Christian Fundamentalism is a conservative movement within the broader context of Christianity that primarily arose in the late 19th and early 20th centuries among British and American Protestants. The movement is characterized by a strict belief in the inerrancy of the Bible, the literal interpretation of its texts, and the assertion of traditional Christian beliefs against the perceived threats posed by modernism.

How has your understanding of empathy been influenced by your spiritual or philosophical viewpoints?
@9LHB5P7 1mo1MO
I was raised as a catholic and feel I understand and feel morals - but, does this mean I always adhere to these morals? I am human. Morality is a construct we've implemented to encourage order and peace. Sometimes in life, more than order and peace is required to suceed.

What do you think drives people to seek spiritual or religious experiences in the first place?
@9KG4RJ43mos3MO
Family tradition or pressure, sometimes life changing experiences or trauma, a need for solidity and structure or community.
@ISIDEWITH3mos3MO
How do you find common ground with people whose beliefs challenge your own?
@9KG69Y43mos3MO
I would try and talk to them about less controversial topics and also be tolerant of different beliefs; and make it clear that is my stance; promoting kindness and understanding; rather than hatred of views that are different to my own, I think you can usually find things in common with people that have different beliefs- you just have to look for those common ideas/ values etc.

Is it possible to maintain traditional values while embracing multiculturalism and diversity?
@9JSXX7Q3mos3MO
Yes, a society without our Christian values (essentially revolving around truth, grace and love) would be chaotic as we increasingly see.

Have you ever considered the impact of religious education on a person's worldview, and in what ways?
@9HXYNNT4mos4MO
Yes. I think spirituality is important to address - by that I mean a basic understanding of faith and belief in education and to explore the different faiths. However I don’t believe in religious fundamentalism or fanaticism in any way.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
What does spiritual fulfillment look like to you in a world that is often driven by material success?
@9J62WYS4mos4MO
I think society was happier when the majority of the public was religious.
@ISIDEWITH5mos5MO
Have you ever had to reconcile your scientific education with your religious beliefs; what was that like for you?
@9J25NRT4mos4MO
as a lapsed catholic, i believe most wars are based on religious intolerance. Also the science debunks religion.
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
How might viewing a religious text both metaphorically and literally offer different insights into its teachings?
@9HRQJW75mos5MO
Religious teaching should be kept separate from the public eye.
