Should the government enact a stricter immigration policy?
But let me ask you a question, weren't we all immigrants at one point? The first humans came from Ethiopia and if you trace your ancestry back far enough I'm sure you will find many different nationalities in your bloodline. Secondly, let me give you a scenario, you are a 21 year old single mother of 3 who recently had your house blown up by ISIS and watched on helpless while your husband was shot dead in front of your infant children. You have no access to the Internet, no way of legally applying for citizenship, and a smuggler offers to give you a better life for a small fee. What would you do? Do you think we should turn this young woman and her children away? It is easy to forget sometimes that these are people too, with families, just like me and you, and they are not just a statistic, but a human being. I hope that I have given you a different perspective on this argument, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
