Learn more about Ebola Virus

So far, the recent Ebola outbreaks in Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone led to 7,178 confirmed cases of infections resulting in 3,338 deaths. A worst-case scenario estimates one and a half million deaths by January. William Pooley, who was the first Briton to contract the virus during the current outbreak, appealed to the international community to act to prevent the epidemic getting worse. Britain said it would build facilities for 700 new beds in Sierra Leone but the first of these will not be ready for weeks, and the rest may take months.  See recent ebola virus news
