No, but civic education of the political system should be increased to ensure people of voting age understand politics

 @98RKMX2answered…1yr1Y

Everyone should get a vote. Under the age of 18 this is a proxy vote which you can give to a parent or guardian.

 @89KMD5WLibertariananswered…3yrs3Y

Voting carries less of a responsibility than marriage and sexual consent, both legal at the age of 16. Why should the right to vote not be the same?

 @97LL6ZQLiberal Democratanswered…1yr1Y

Yes it should be lowered to 16 and 13 year old should have an advisory vote. However if you are turning 16 within 6 months of an election you must be allowed a true vote as well.

 @97SZQPPConservativecommented…1yr1Y

If those people don't understand politics and haven't studied it how are they supposed to give a vote when they don't even know what they believe yet?

 @9LP6YSQanswered…5 days5D

Removed entirely but voters should be required to pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics in order to vote

 @9LNDJ2Janswered…6 days6D

Yes, but only if better non-partial education is available for everyone to do before each round of voting

 @9LN33K3answered…6 days6D

Voting age should be lowered to 16, there should also be a box that allows you to voice that you don’t fully understand what you are voting for

 @9LMJBMBanswered…7 days7D

it somewhat depends, if it was reduced slightly to lets say 17 or 16 years of age i think it is fair

 @9LLSSW2Greenanswered…1wk1W

Yes, when politics is taught properly and in an unbiased way in schools. It is an important subject and every citizen deserves to receive knowledge and understanding through education.

 @9LKMWLJanswered…1wk1W

No, anyone who pays taxes, who is above 21 and who passes a basic test demonstrating basic understanding of politics should be allowed to vote.

 @9LFZQRTGreen answered…2wks2W

Yes, the age should be lowered to 16 but voters should be required to pass a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics in order to vote

 @9LFPJP4answered…2wks2W

Yes, but people should be required to take a test like this to help them work out how they should vote before actually voting.

 @9LDGYQLanswered…2wks2W

when you're under 20, it should be completely optional to vote, once you're over 16 you should have the right to vote

 @9L8RK8K answered…3wks3W

Yes but make it so the person is assessed on their understanding to have the right but not to the extend of discourage them with the process

 @9L879JSanswered…3wks3W

RAISED to 25
no collage age person is an adult they don't think rationally in university and by the point of graduation their view on politics can change because of events they live though.

25 should also be IF we maintain a grey legal status for sex work.
NO ONE UNDER THE AGE OF 25 SHOULD BE EXPLOITED actually no one should be exploited ban the industry but i know that ther are a few Ministers in parlment are coke sniffing child molesters. you wanna protect them or make them test new make up products?

 @9L55SJ2answered…4wks4W

Yes. If you can join the army and get married at 16 , then you should be able to vote. Especially when older people with dementia are voting.

 @9L4VTC5answered…1mo1MO

No but they should teach the political system better so people can have a fair understanding of what’s happening

 @9L3XDJZanswered…1mo1MO

Knowledge tests and random jury-like selection process of officers to cover each constituency for each year.

 @9L3SSZ9answered…1mo1MO

Yes. If you pay taxes then you must be allowed to vote, although if you are under 18, you must pass a test, demonstrating that you have an understanding in politics in order to vote.

 @9KZMY4Lanswered…1mo1MO

The minimum voting age should be lowered to 16 on the basis that more political conversations and classes are had in schools

 @9KYQLGNanswered…1mo1MO

I think people should be educated in basic politics (pros and cons of policies) so that they can't be lied to so easily by politicians

 @RomanAroundanswered…1mo1MO

Yes, with the addition of a basic test demonstrating their understanding of politics in order to vote

 @9KXHKPNanswered…1mo1MO

No, except for votes or referendums which will have a significant and prolonged effect on life in the UK

 @9KWX49Hanswered…1mo1MO

It should be lowered but understanding of process and what they are voting for should be demonstrated

 @9KVTHMGanswered…1mo1MO

Yes 16 should be the voting age as 16 year old's are politically aware, can own property, work, have children and otherwise operate in society.

 @9KVFJP8answered…1mo1MO

Politics should be taught in secondary school from year 7, and then should be given the right to vote 16+

 @9KV7JVYGreenanswered…1mo1MO

Yes, and voters should be required to pass a basic IQ and understanding of politics in order to vote

 @9KTLQ4Nanswered…1mo1MO

i think overall the voting age should be lowered, but we must overall be more educated on our options, so as a society we know which parties we agree with

 @9KNPX4Lanswered…2mos2MO

I think it should be raised to 20 but you can vote when you are 17 but if between 17 and 20 you should be required to take a general knowledge test based on the UK.

 @9KNDPQPanswered…2mos2MO

Yes, but everyone should take a basic test for demonstrating their understanding of politics should be required

 @9KGNQHSanswered…2mos2MO

Yes, but voters should be requires to pass a test to demonstrate understanding of the political system.

 @9KGMMZSanswered…2mos2MO

I don't think this is currently relevant or likely enough to formulate an opinion based on my current residency within England.

 @9KB6HK2answered…2mos2MO

I believe all tax paying citizens should be able to vote and those who have passed a test to show that they understand the parties, I do not believe they must be of a certain IQ however.

 @9K8X6Q5answered…2mos2MO

No but people above the age of 60 should not be allowed to vote as it is the youths future in their hands

 @9K7SMYJLiberal Democratanswered…2mos2MO

Yes, but citizens need to pass a political understanding test, showing basic knowledge of our political system.

 @9K3RRFSLiberal Democratanswered…2mos2MO

If the candidates are under 18, a basic test to prove they understand politics should be carried out.If they pass as a reward we should grant them the vote.If already 18 and intreasted in vote then they know what they are doing.

 @9K2VZR8answered…2mos2MO

No but I believe it should be compulsory to vote over the age of 18 or pay a fine then you have the true opinion of the whole country.

 @9K2LF69answered…2mos2MO

I believe that if you turn 18 within the same year as an election you should be eligible to vote. For example if you turn 18 on the 10th October and the election is in May that same year, you should be allowed to have a vote. But if you turn 18 the year after you do not. There was a big election the year I turned 18, but it took place less than 3 weeks before I turned 18 and I couldn't vote.

 @9JZMVD3answered…2mos2MO

Yes. There also should be formal education provided to everyone voting. Both in and outside of school. There should be ‘fairs’, workshops, community educational talks from many spokespersons; Especially all that are expecting to handle peoples lives for many years.

 @9JYM84Qanswered…2mos2MO

Yes but children need to be taught about politics, so they can learn how their vote will affect the country

 @9JXRHQZGreenanswered…2mos2MO

From 16 you should be allowed to vote if you can pass the basic understanding test, after 18 you should be allowed to vote freely.

 @9JX324SLabouranswered…2mos2MO

Yes to 16 but politics should be taught in year 10 of secondary school or before children turn 16 if they are home educated
