The minimum wage should not be a long term goal and should encourage people to attempt to seem higher paying jobs. Raising the minimum wage would make people less motivated to work for better jobs and hurt the economy in the meanwhile.

Adopting living wages reduces employer turnover and increases staff motivation and morale. These things consequently attract more people to the workforce, and reduces costs associated with recruitment which both allow the employer to flourish. On a national level, increasing the living wage will result in more money in the economy and better quality of life and significantly reduces stress.
