During challenging times people who earn over £150,000 a year should be taxed higher as it will simply not affect your standards of living. Once you reach a certain level of income where your basic needs are comfortably met then there is simply no harm in being taxed further to help fund vital services across the UK with your tax money.
Increasing tax on higher earners gives us more fiscal headroom to extend personal allowances for people with lower incomes
