We have been genetically modifying plants for thousands of years through selective breeding. GMO doesn't mean "pumped full of chemicals", it is making subtle tweeks to an organisms genome to boost yield and disease resistance. GMO could literally end world hunger.
In the face of climate change and global population growth, GM foods provide an opportunity to enhance global food insecurity, a risk that should not be underestimated.

The Modification of Foods typically has minimal impact in the Health Implications of consuming them, but can Greatly increase the yield and thus could support the UK's food Stability and could reduce food prices.

The most responsible thing to do is to use science to create foods which will feed the population with good quality, less carbon footprint and more accessibility.
