as humans naturally we like the usual and dont react too well with change. But we a got over it when McDonald's started switching plastic straws to paper ones, we just improvised by getting fancy metal straws to carry with us. Some may not like it at first but they will get over it and i would much rather do something about it now willingly rather than having no choice in the future when our planet is polluted and beyond saving.

 @9FNR5VRdisagreed…7mos7MO

I don't belive that the govermant is actually concerned with climate change and would use it to install regulations that benefit them.

 @9FY5N22disagreed…7mos7MO

We as a nation are currently a drop in the bucket of global carbon emissions which is a very real problem but not one we can solve by handicapping businesses instead we need these businesses to thrive and invest in new experimental technologies that could make real changes and help lower emissions in key areas around the world.

 @9GZYRBQagreed…5mos5MO

Making changes like paper straws instead of plastic may be slightly uncomfortable to you, but imagine how much more uncomfortable it will be for future generations when the world has been destroyed by melting icecaps, air pollution, etc.

 @9GRK6D2agreed…6mos6MO

many big companies contribute chemicals and harmful, long term plastics into the world as it costs too much to dispose correctly or is cheaper to buy overall. they are blindsided by money and don't see the negative impacts of what they are doing to our world.

The UK currently produces over 75 million MWh/p.a. each year from wind energy (enough to power over 20 million homes each year). This energy comes from a mixture of onshore and offshore wind turbines and reduces CO2 emissions by over 32 million tonnes every year.

 @9FJYPW6agreed…7mos7MO

Looking at just human environmental impact on oceans, 1/3 of coral reefs have been destroyed by warming climates. Scientists predict coral reefs will be a thing of the past by the end of this century if we do not reduce our carbon emissions and attempt to reverse global warming

 @9FCJXNJagreed…7mos7MO

Businesses routinely exploit the natural resources of countries, and are responsible for the vast majority of carbon emissions globally. Without the government imposing environmental restrictions on them, they will continue to pollute and exploit the world for profit

 @9FCK2RPagreed…7mos7MO

On this issue people won’t elect to make the changes that are required without the correct stimulus from government - UK has a policy requirement for 600000 air source heat pump installations per annum by 2028 but only has a subsidy in place which is 50% of the level required to encourage adoption and has done nothing to address the differential between unit cost of power and gas which would make the renewable heating technology a more economically attractive option - the result is adoption levels currently at 60000 per annum. In France the subsidy level is correct and the unit differential has been addressed and they are delivering at the 600000 per annum level - this is equivalent to an additional 1.5 million tonnes of carbon per annum saving. In the uk 25% of total carbon emissions could be eradicated with the correct policy.

 @9FXN8RTagreed…7mos7MO

A hole in the ozone layer was discovered above Antarctica which came from a large amount of harmful gases being used. It has been closing but has been a big piece of proof of climate change of man.

 @9LPNTSBagreed…4 days4D

If there is no regulation by the government, the private companies and corporations will continue to chase the profit at all cost - environmental concerns will be at the bottom of the list

 @9LP8CCRdisagreed…5 days5D

Why make population poorer when we represent less than 1% of world emissions instead rely on advancing technologies

 @9LP6VFWdisagreed…5 days5D

Environmental regulations are tools employed by the climate change agenda to get money out of the British citizen.

 @9L4GKPGagreed…1mo1MO

there's undeniable evidence to suggest we as humans have caused global warming such as human activity has increased the greenhouse gases via power stations, cars and advancing technologies over time.

 @9KS674GConservative disagreed…2mos2MO

It punishes local businesses and pushes production out of the country to other countries that are far worse from an environmental perspective. Therefore no net benefit to the UK from an economic perspective and no net benefit to the globe from an emissions perspective.

How will you charge road tax on an electric car probably by the mile like the do in London more miles you do more expensive your day to day life will be due to increased cost in travel

 @9JX2S3DConservativedisagreed…2mos2MO

Because it affects the British economy and can risk peoples jobs and finances at a time of inflation

Nations such as China and India have industrialised to the point that pollution ravages their cities, if their production rates continue why should the west slow down and fall behind.

The University of Reading's climate stripes metric visually demonstrates how average global temperatures have dramatically increased in recent decades; a rate that would exceed natural global temperature changes. https://www.reading.ac.uk/planet/climate-resources/climate-stripes

 @9GZ2GZSdisagreed…5mos5MO

No, gradually over time companies and the population will contine to cut carbon emissions. It is not something we can change overnight at the drop of a hat. The banning of petrol/diesel fuel powered cars will not solve the situation whilst electricity is still created by burning fuels for example.

 @9GTWY88UKIPdisagreed…6mos6MO

communities that choose not to be in gauge with the environmental regulations should be free of regulation as it is their choice to do what they do with their environment.

 @9GP377HGreenagreed…6mos6MO

Climate change is happening, and is getting worse. If we don't act now, there will be no earth for future generations.

 @9GNT3CFagreed…6mos6MO

I will never understand how people can be against environmental regulation like it isn’t literally changing the world around us as we speak

 @9GNQS5Nagreed…6mos6MO

Quite frankly we are running out of time with global warming. It's time to wake up and look at the scientific facts and not put our heads in the sand.

 @9GN5KTTagreed…6mos6MO

I don't think I need to provide any more information. The science is easily available if one is interested in the truth and those who aren't interested will not be convinced in either case. The facts are that at this point, the only thing that is being debated is the speed and severity of the impacts of ecological breakdown.

Not every one can afford a stupid electric vehicle the sound soooooo stupid, it is like a hair dryer. They will probibaly cause and accident because you can’t hear them. Use electric elsewhere but not on vehicles 🚗

 @9GFSJ8Rdisagreed…6mos6MO

Most of the so called 'better alternatives' Electric Cars, Solar Panels etc. actually have a far worse impact on the environment, so I do not think that the government is in any position to dictate what is better or worse for the environment as their solutions seem to based more on politics and money rather than what is actually having a positive impact on the environment over all.

Fossil fuels are disappearing at a rapid rate, whilst nuclear energy is mostly untapped and has a higher energy potential, and could easily be combined with renewables

 @9GLY9JFGreenagreed…6mos6MO

Capitalism is not incentivising green transition - amidst reports of greenwashing, plastic pollution has increased and CO2 emissions are not currently levelling off. Major political parties are delaying bans and transition campaigns and there is no economic incentive to go green, only consumer demand which can be met via thinly veiled promises and misleading statistics on carbon offset neutrality from corporations.

 @9GL64HGGreenagreed…6mos6MO

There's been a 63% decrease in biodiversity in 13years.the rate of warming since 1981 is more than twice as fast per decade as the average since 1880.

 @9FJ6GLGdisagreed…7mos7MO

Looking at the world data and the fact the UK is doing less than 3% shows we are cutting our nose off to spite our face and costing everyone the cost of living instead of steadily going green.

 @9GZYRNWagreed…5mos5MO

businesses that allow for working from home or provide incentives for staff to travel to work in an eco friendly way abide by the regulations and in some cases go beyond them with near 0 repercussions to their business.

Increased and severe weather events across the world, increased global temperatures. Melting of ice caps, sheets and glaciers. The world is heading towards catastrophic events and global change. There are too many people in the world. It is unsustainable and humans are the only specie responsible for this exceptional change in climate.

 @9FVQPRD disagreed…7mos7MO

No as I believe public opinion on climate change, and the need for companies to agree with the public to make profits, will ultimately lead to companies lowering emissions over time.

The poorer the people are the less bothered they’ll be about the environment. When they’re tired and poor they want something quick and easy to look after their families.

 @9LR27B3 disagreed…2 days2D

The planet has been getting hot and cold on it's own for billions of years. The Sahara desert wasn't always a desert. The UK was part of Europe. If these changes were happening now then global warming would be to blame. They moan about the sea level rising and ice caps melting, yes they are because volcanoes erupt under the sea and land volcanoes lava can run in to the seas, we create islands out of the sea for airports and expensive holiday locations, of cause the sea level will rise. Why do we build ice breaker ships to break up the ice, even David Attenborough has one named aft…  Read more

before the industrial revolution, we didn't know anything about Global warming because it wasn't a problem because we didn't know what it was

 @9LQWRQ7agreed…2 days2D

80% of our pollution is mainly caused by fossil fuels which get trapped in the atmosphere and cause the planet to warm up since sunlight/heat cant escape.
