You believe in the separation of religion from government affairs, promoting equal treatment and freedom for all beliefs.
Secularism is a political ideology that advocates for the separation of religious institutions from the state. This ideology emphasizes the need for a clear distinction between government and religion, asserting that neither should interfere in the affairs of the other. Secularism promotes the idea that public activities and decisions, especially political ones, should be uninfluenced by religious beliefs and practices.

How do you balance respect for diverse beliefs with support for secular values in your community?
@9HY4HB85mos5MO
I balance my respect for both by being passive with my opinions, there are christians in my family and I myself am not one. However, I respect them by kindly closing my eyes and staying silent when they have their mealtime prayer etc. I also don't practice other cultures in my daily life unless I know I am welcome to - Palo Santo is used in indigenous cultures, and they find it disrespectful when someone not apart of that culture uses it so I use sage instead.

To what extent should secular laws accommodate religious customs and vice versa?
@9JS7SL6 4mos4MO
Secular laws should not accommodate religious customs. If it did then it wouldn’t be secular any more. I agree with have religion and state separate.

How would your ideal government recognize or accommodate your personal beliefs or non-beliefs?
@9HJ25RN 6mos6MO
Everybody should have the right to have their own beliefs when it comes to religion unless it infringes others rights and/or physically or mentally endangers them. The state, however, should remain completely unaffected by religion and should make its laws and decisions based on what is best for all people. The head of state is free to believe in a faith if they so wish as long as it remains personal and doesn’t reflect upon the decisions for the state and people. Their faith can of course influence how they make decisions as it influences their everyday lives and decisions. But it should not be allowed to have the state based completely around a single religion/faith.
