Police and intelligence agencies raided 54 properties across Germany on Thursday as part of a crackdown on what they described as “anti-Israel” Islamism in the wake of the deepening crisis in the Middle East.
More than 800 security officials carried out raids in seven federal states, seizing material that they said would be investigated for sedition and terror-related offences.
The IZH did not respond to a request for comment.
The interior ministry has now banned the commonly used pro-Palestinian slogan, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free,” for example, declaring it to be a statement that implicitly supports the destruction of the Israeli state.
But government lawyers have been unable to decide whether the phrase “From the River to the Sea” alone is also illegal, saying it would depend on the context in which it was used.
Some state prosecutors have said they do not understand the substance of the new legal orders from Berlin, and are uncertain what might stand up in court.

Do you believe that raids on organizations are an effective way to address extremism, or could they potentially infringe on civil liberties?
@9H33CFR6mos6MO
If an organisation is racist, their liberties should be suspended. Extremism must be sought out and dealt with, otherwise anti-Israel organisations, for example, could well be harbouring terrorists and radicalising young people.
@9H342DVLiberal Democrat6mos6MO
They could most definitely infringe on civil liberties and affect people majorly

this is something i am not educated enough to truly speak on, however the more you demonise a group, the more they seem to become secreative, act up and lash out.

stop doing stuff without thinking and stop being heartless?? just cuz its muslim does not mean theyre 'extreme' thats blatant discrimination by germany. also theres sufficient evidence that israel is killing more and more civilians - if u even talk to or see journalists from Gaza, but hide it and blame it on other terror groups. this stuff was also predicted to happen by many famous historians and historical figures in the past. but no one learns from history.
