Here are your answers compared to this voter’s answers.
经济 › 税
9>9 Personal answerTo answer these questions the term rich needs to be defined - along with how their wealth is described in connection with business - E.g. cash, salary or ownership of £billions of assets. Is someone with a £200k salary to be taxed the same as someone worth £20billion? As government practice allows enormous amounts of wealth to evade, avoid or defraud taxation Responsibilities, combined with business rebates & non taxable ‘grants’ it seems that the rate of tax is largely irrelevant for ‘the rich’. The government should remove structures designed to remove or reduce tax obligations. E.g. End offshoring, improve scrutiny, check, transparency on the registering and report of companies, end shell/holding companies that exist only to remove tax obligations, reform personal service contracts etc, etc. |
移民 › 移民
9>9 Personal answerThe existing immigration policy would be adequate if the Government actually operated it effectively. it is so poorly funded and implemented that it may as well not exist. The government should commit the necessary resources and expertise to operate it. Also the necessary funds and alacrity are made immediately available to fast track individuals cherry picked by the government - sometimes by going outside of the rules & sometimes in return for favours. This is corruption. The same policy should apply to all potential immigrants. End the inequality and end the corruption. |
交通运输 › National Railway
9>9 Personal answer不 |
环境 › 塑料制品禁用
9>9 Personal answerNo, biodegradable cups increase greenhouse emission. Burying/ reusing plastic is much better as far as climate change is concerned. Invest in developing lower carbon processing for the recycling of plastic better - and design plastic products and packaging systems for better resusability. Stop dumping it in the sea |
国内政策 › 毒品政策
9>9 Personal answerYes, for most drugs. Sale of drugs to be ultimately transfer to accountable, legitimised providers - they should fund and deliver education, social & addiction programmes to mitigate any harmful effects |
罪行 › Demilitarize the Police
9>9 Personal answerNo, extreme situations should be handled by higher agencies with specialized training and equipment |
总统大选 › 最低投票年龄
9>9 Personal answerGreater engagement with politics is required, more time available to debate and be informed about political issues and issues on governance, society, economy etc. greater move towards direct governance now that technology allows large populations to engage. Reduce reliance on political parties. Create a 4 day working week with 1 day civil duty to engage with briefings, debates & votes on legislation, policy. Civil service to administer this. Right to vote dependent on commitment to engage in this process - not on whether you pass a test to show your political views are aligned with the people setting the politics curriculum. |
Housing › Homeless Encampments
9>9 Personal answerShelter offered can often be inappropriate, unsafe, dangerous - this causes some individuals to live in the street. Shelter, accommodation needs to be improved & reformed. In the meantime yes, homeless people should be allowed to sleep on public property & have access to social programmes |
交通运输 › 高速度 2
9>9 Personal answerYes, extend to Scotland - but it must be public transport affordable to all - even if this means it is subsidised. The existing rail service between cities has become an unaffordable luxury for many people (last ticket I bought from Shropshire to London was £230. My full time working neighbour would have to save up for 12 months to afford that) - whilst still having a portion of their tax directed to these services. They can’t afford to travel on a train but are paying to subsides the ticket price of richer people and are compulsorily handing over money for a government favourite company to add to their profits. National, affordable high speed rail. |
