Privatisation appears to encourage profiting from the sick rather than the more benevolent stance of helping maintain a healthy, normal life expectancy.
@9FWMBFXLiberal Democrat7mos7MO
Privatisation of the NHS will result in the most vulnerable people being unable to access the care and support that they need to live. Complete privatisation will result in higher deaths across the country, as well as an increase in people seeking care from non-legitimate and unsafe alternatives. Access to public health services should be a fundamental human right.
@9FPZ8VN7mos7MO
Health care is a public service that should be available to all, your quality of life should not be punished because you cannot afford care.
@9FMF8MM7mos7MO
No because the NHS is extremely helpful to people in need and the government does need to take care of the poor and.
@9G78N4J6mos6MO
Sick and poor people would not be able to afford private health care, sick people tend to be poorer due to their poor health, in a rich country like ours it seems moral to help the sick.
@9GRCC436mos6MO
The NHS is the backbone of the country and is important to making sure the health of the nation is up to scaratch and free at point of access.

@9GJGD6L6mos6MO
Privatisation has not worked for any other previously publicly owned service (our trains are late, our gas is the most expensive in europe and our rivers are awash in sewage) so, why would it work for healthcare?
@9FJ3WJZ7mos7MO
Health care is a public service that should be available to all, your quality of life should not be punished because you cannot afford care
@9FCHGJS7mos7MO
Healthcare is a need for all citizens, a person should not have to worry about going into severe debt when or if they require medical attention.
@9FB9GF97mos7MO
Private companies have ruined every other public service. Don't let them anywhere near the NHS. Lust for profit should not override public duty.
@9FPF8BH7mos7MO
Look how privatisation effects other countries such as the USA privatisation means you can only get better if you can afford it this is not in line with british standards.
@9FC87567mos7MO
You should not privatise the NHS. This is privatising peoples lives, and it's better that it be funded by national tax.
@9FFW6R37mos7MO
privatised services often do not live up to the same standards as others and usually serve to benefit a company/buisiness owner
@9FCPBHS7mos7MO
It will lead to more people not being treated and worse national health that will destroy the country.
@9FQLDGDLiberal Democrat7mos7MO
The idea of not having a health service that is free at the point of need should be anathema to all people in the UK, especially those who have needed the NHS at some point. Having to pay for healthcare will hit the least able to pay for it the hardest.
@9FVSZ3V 7mos7MO
Dismantle the two tier system. Nationalise any party involved in NHS provision. Make sure that all NHS funding goes to service provision and not in excessive salaries or profits.
@9GRK4Q56mos6MO
Privatising the NHS puts many low income familys at risk as they may not be able to afford healthcare if their children have disorders of diseases.
@9GGVYMF6mos6MO
We have seen how the health system works in the US where people have no access to affordable health when they need it. Even those supporting private health and other the spread of free market capitalism must see they need a healthy labour market to sustain growth.
@9GGVPPM6mos6MO
Most people would not be able to afford healthcare at all and it is not good for the state of our country today
@9FN7WZW7mos7MO
If it was privatised it would become a “for profit” industry and thus patient care would no longer be the priority. We may also end up with a US style insurance system
@9GPM85D6mos6MO
Privatisation allows the rich to get the best treatment and the rest to get subpar healthcare, these people can be left on year long wait lists.
@9GM8MSZ6mos6MO
Making financial gain from people being sick is morally wrong and not the sign of a civilised society.
@9FHHNT37mos7MO
No! Do we want a US model? Whereby, the cost healthcare costs per capita is higher, the services exclude some people, and the funding goes to line the pockets of big pharma & insurance companies?
@9FGLN747mos7MO
Privatising the NHS would leave the most vulnerable members of society in an awful position as it values money over all else, in turn valuing the most affluent over those in need. Which would disprove the idea of equality.
There are so many people who would not be able to afford privatised NHS due to the current raise in prices for everything and the drop in pay.
@9FFXC3D7mos7MO
complete privatisation of the NHS would mean that a large amount of UK citizens could not recieve the healthcare they need and would also create incentives for hospitals to buy the cheapest and not the most effective healthcare for their patients because their priority will be making money and not healing the sick.
@9F6KT8D8mos8MO
People would have to pay for it and some people may not be able to access health care that is needed
The last decade of Tory rule, which has caused the decline of the NHS. The NHS used to be considered one of the best healthcare systems in the world, and ever since the Tories came to power it has been declining. Privatisation will worsen this.
@9GM2TMM6mos6MO
Would you rather live in a country like the United States of America where even the most successful people can be bankrupted by a hospital visit to save a small percentage of your paycheck?
@9FHR2NP7mos7MO
There is no need. If the government put as much money into the NHS as they do to Trident and nuclear weaponry we would have an incredible health care system free for all citizens and effective.
@9FMBTSC7mos7MO
The NHS is buckling under the weight of an aging
Population with multiple long term conditions diagnosed earlier and a lack of social care infrastructure that supports familial care of our elderly.
Whilst it should remain free, I do feel there is an argument for a flat fee (small) at the point of entry to A and E until the time it is deemed a and e was the appropriate service vs for eg, pharmacy’s, walk in, gp’s ect.
As someone who works within a social enterprise within the NHS. Seeing care as ‘a business’ is truly the worst thing you can do for patients and staff making it a ‘numbers game’ is and will continue to drive staff away from the nhs.
@9G27YBJ 7mos7MO
Moral responsibility to those who can’t look after themselves; excluding the fact you can’t predict the future and have no way to know if you might need to use the service. Being ill is a fact of life and shouldn’t be profited off.
@9FZH94K7mos7MO
The arguments for a more compassionate society, in which private business interests are made secondary to the good of society as a whole, are always worth making but we must also highlight that privatisation is always more expensive, inefficient and can be seriously harmful to patient care.
@9FD35TR7mos7MO
Private firms may abuse their power due to the information gaps and make consumers spend excessive income in healthcare even though it may not be necessary.
