You believe that human ingenuity and technological advancements will ultimately provide solutions to resource scarcity and environmental challenges, leading to a prosperous and sustainable future.
Cornucopianism is a political ideology that is optimistic about the ability of human beings to adapt and innovate in order to overcome scarcity and environmental challenges. The term "Cornucopian" is derived from the "horn of plenty" in Greek mythology, which was always filled with whatever the owner wished for, symbolizing abundance. Cornucopians believe that the earth has an abundance of natural resources and that human ingenuity and free markets will inevitably lead to technological advancements that make these resources more accessible or create substitutes.

Would knowing we have the potential for endless energy change your thoughts on current energy saving practices?
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
If Earth's resources are finite, can human innovation truly circumvent all natural limitations, or is there a breaking point?
@9H9QLQR6mos6MO
Human innovation can circumvent all natural limitations
@ISIDEWITH6mos6MO
If humans are 'the ultimate resource', are there any limits to what we can achieve?
@9H87W8C6mos6MO
The limits are the finite resources which are required to continue the progression of humanity in the current direction. Rare earth metals, available land space etc are all finite and will not sufficiently be replenished in order to maintain our current trajectory of development ie not sustainable.
Belief in a “magic” solution/technology arriving within the next 10-20 years which will enable unlimited growth within finite planetary boundaries
(considering the period of time in which renewable electricity technology has been available and not industrially implemented) seems borderline suicidal and designed to financially benefit a fractional minority of the world population, no one else.

How much faith do you put in humanity's ability to invent its way out of any potential resource shortage?
@9H7ZBHC6mos6MO
No faith can truly be put in to a cornucopian idea or goal, this is due to the finite state of the universe, some things are renewable such as solar powered energy and wood or charcoal or crops and livestock but pure materials such as iron and coal and plutonium are not renewable and will eventually be used up, at that point the solar system will need to be traversed in order to gather resources, though some such as coal and oil will run out and not be able to be used again for thousands of years and so the focus should be on renewability and renewable or synthetic replacements for coal and oil.
