Can the excitement over a potentially concealed truth overshadow the need for solid evidence?

 @9KWCDGJ answered…3mos3MO

Sometimes, the need for conspiracies will often draft a way or provide the journey in searching for the truth which can be left interpreted by many ways. It blurs the lines between truth and speculation but creates a nuance of investigation which often is useful in educating the public.

Can you think of a time when a conspiracy theory was later proven to have some truth, and how did that change your perspective?

 @9HJP3M3 answered…6mos6MO

The assassination of JFK definitely seems to have viable theories attached to it.

How have movies or media that you've seen shaped your perspective on the existence of secret societies or hidden plots?

 @9HJQ2ZBConservativeanswered…6mos6MO

Convinced me that they're unlikely. Mass organisation in secret is difficult, and can more easily be managed by small networks in power providing incentives that filter down. Overall conspiracies are low, but managing of incentives culturally and financially can serve as a more effective stand-in that can be viewed by some as a conspiracy.

How do personal values and morals intersect with the belief in or rejection of underground narratives?

 @9KHM7MDanswered…3mos3MO

I think everyone is currently forced to believe a certain way and anyone that believes differently is laughed at or ignored. I definitely think people should be more open minded to other points of view.

How do your values guide you when evaluating whether there's more to a story than is being shared?

 @9JCD5P7answered…4mos4MO

There is normally always more to a story being shared, but this is not a conspiricy, this is just the way the world works. I believe most people are decent, and relatively honest, but that there are complexities beyond the obvious that most non-experts cannot understand. Conspiricy is built upon mistrust and organised deception, and I reject these beliefs.
