In a sense, all ideologies are 'human centred' because only humans are capable of forming ideologies. Activism can encourage us to change our consumption choices, but it is more effective to understand why people consume like they do, and attempt to shift attitudes through healthy debate rather than patronising talking down. Individual freedom will always be partly curtailed if we are to change our consumption habits, it is the job of activists to fairly persuade people to curtail their own freedoms for the wider good. If this can't be achieved that is simply an ideological loss.
