Zuma's MK Party Shakes Up South African Elections, Threatens ANC Dominance

Former South African President Jacob Zuma's new political party, the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party, has made significant inroads in the country's latest elections, challenging the long-standing dominance of the African National Congress (ANC). Zuma has raised allegations of vote counting discrepancies and is threatening legal action to halt the announcement of the election results.

The MK Party's strong performance, particularly in Mpumalanga and KZN provinces, where it significantly eroded the ANC's support, has been a major talking point.

With provocative rhetoric and a lack of clear policies, the MK Party has nonetheless managed to become the second-largest party in Mpumalanga, securing 17.1% of the vote and nearly pushing the ANC below the 50% mark in both mentioned provinces.
