It’s frustrating to see Labour backing down on taxing the wealthiest when it’s clear that the current system disproportionately benefits higher earners. The idea that public sector workers like NHS staff would be harmed is concerning, but surely there’s a way to protect them while still making sure those at the top pay their fair share. We need bold action to fix the financial mess the Conservatives have created, not more retreating under pressure. Labour should be standing up to big money interests and prioritizing working people. Hopefully, they can still push for progressive solutions that don’t leave ordinary folks footing the bill.
