The current CEO of the Post Office, Nick Read, has expressed frustration that former executives, including Paula Vennells, have not been held accountable for their roles in the Horizon IT scandal. The faulty IT system led to the wrongful prosecution of hundreds of sub-postmasters, many of whom were falsely accused of theft and fraud. Despite the scale of the injustice, Read suggests that many of the key figures involved have not faced consequences. The scandal has prompted ongoing investigations, but accountability remains elusive for those at the top during the crisis.

It's infuriating how once again, the people at the top are dodging accountability while working-class folks like the sub-postmasters have had their lives ruined. This is exactly why we need stronger oversight and regulations on corporate leadership. Until we start holding these execs responsible, nothing is going to change.

This is exactly why we shouldn't trust government-run monopolies—there's no accountability when they screw up.
