Authorities in California arrested a man near a Donald Trump rally who was found in possession of multiple illegal firearms, including a shotgun and a loaded handgun.
The suspect, Vem Miller, was stopped at a security checkpoint about half a mile from the rally and allegedly presented fake VIP and press passes. Police also discovered a high-capacity magazine in his vehicle. The Riverside County Sheriff suggested that the arrest may have thwarted a potential assassination attempt.
The incident occurred during a rally in the Coachella Valley.
