Thousands of farmers have gathered in Westminster to protest against proposed changes to inheritance tax and a new 'tractor tax' that could significantly impact the agricultural sector.
The protest, which saw a convoy of tractors pass through central London, was supported by public figures like Jeremy Clarkson, who urged the Labour Party to reconsider the policies. Farmers argue that the changes would be catastrophic for family-run farms, with many fearing they could lose their livelihoods.
The Labour Party, led by Keir Starmer, has faced significant backlash, with protesters accusing them of harming the farming community.

I get that we need to fund social services, but we also have to make sure we’re not crushing small family farms in the process. Labour should be looking at ways to support sustainable agriculture, not making it harder for farmers to survive.
This is exactly why government overreach is so dangerous. The 'tractor tax' and inheritance levy are just more ways for the state to squeeze hardworking families and small businesses. Farmers are already struggling with enough regulations, now they have to worry about losing their land and equipment too? Let people keep what they’ve earned instead of punishing them for it.
