Trump clarified his Gaza takeover plan in an early morning Truth Social post, following controversy from his joint briefing with Netanyahu.
The plan envisions Israel turning over Gaza to US control after the current conflict ends.
Trump specifically stated "No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed!" addressing concerns from Republican isolationists.
The proposal includes resettling Palestinians in "safer and more beautiful communities" in the region, though no host countries have expressed interest.
Trump envisions transforming Gaza into "one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth."
The White House, through Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, has been working to clarify aspects of the plan.
Questions remain about the legal authority for such a US takeover of Gaza.
The proposal has faced criticism for potentially constituting "ethnic cleansing," depending on whether the Palestinian relocation would be temporary or permanent.
Trump mentioned working with "great development teams from all over the World" to reconstruct Gaza.
The specificity of Trump's new statement suggests this is more than just a negotiation tactic.

Trump has no business getting involved unless it is to promote peace and provide a solution which the Gaza people agree with
US shouldnt occupy gaza. Heck its not our problem.
Trump is contradicting himself on foreign policy. On the one hand, he states that the US should not be involved in the Middle East and comes across as Non-interventionist, then not much later he announces that the US will take over the Gaza strip. The best solution to the Gaza War is for Israel to recognise a Palestinian state, as the Palestinian Authority recognised Israel decades ago, and remove all illegal settlements in the West Bank. The PA should oversee the reconstruction of Gaza and eventually allow new elections to take place. Israel should also compensate the PA for the damages caused during the conflict and contribute to the reconstruction in exchange for the disbandment of Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
The genocide in Gaza is abhorrent and inhumane and an immediate ceasefire should be called for
