Global Passport Power Rankings Upended: Singapore Tops, India Soars, US and UK Slide

The latest Henley Passport Index for 2025 reveals a major shake-up in global travel freedom.

Singapore retains its position as the world's most powerful passport, granting visa-free access to 193 destinations, while other Asian countries like Japan and South Korea also dominate the top ranks. India made the biggest leap, jumping eight spots to 77th place, now offering its citizens visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 59 countries. In contrast, traditional leaders like the US and UK have continued their decline, slipping further down the rankings.

The results highlight a shift in global mobility, with Asian nations increasingly outpacing Western countries in passport power.
