For the first time since the outbreak of conflict between Iran and the US, several tankers carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz.
This critical maritime chokepoint had seen a near-total halt in energy shipments due to blockades and heightened security risks, threatening global fuel supplies. The safe passage of India-bound and Japan-linked vessels marks a tentative easing of tensions and offers much-needed relief to countries dependent on Gulf energy exports. However, analysts warn that further crossings may remain limited in the short term as the situation remains volatile.
The resumption of tanker traffic is being closely monitored by governments and energy markets worldwide.
