Many people in the country can afford to pay for meals and it should only be the poorest that get them free

Free school meals should only be provided to those who require them, using the funding to ensure that those in need receive a substantial and nutritious meal

if you can afford the latest phone and commodities then you should take financial responsibility for you child's well-being not at the cost of the tax payer

All the families who really need the school to pay for the meals would maybe be getting used to having extra money, and this could result in them using that extra money in unethical ways for maybe substance abuse or other activities. Also, once their child leaves school and it no longer pays for their school meals, the parent (who still provide for their child) will not be used to earning more money for their meals, and this could put them into financial shock. Also some families could take advantage of this service, and have more children for the school dinner benefits (like a milder version…  Read more of living off child support). This could then in the long run further contribute to the overpopulation crisis. Also, to pay for all these free school dinners, working people who could not even have a child or be involved in the schooling system would have to pay with higher tax wages. This just isn't fair.

Would you demand a random person in the street to pay for your child's food?

Probably not.

So why would you want to government to demand that a random person pays for that same meal on your behalf.

Free school meals should be paid for as the school has to get food products contracted out and the school/government has to pay their workers depends if its a public or private school. But children should pay for their meals so money can be returned to the school for resources.

They should agree because lots of parents struggle to afford things and this would help greatly for kids that usually have to go hungry
