As of August 2022, the UK has 9 operational nuclear reactors at five locations (8 advanced gas-cooled reactors (AGR) and one pressurised water reactor (PWR)), producing 5.9 GWe. It also has nuclear reprocessing plants at Sellafield and the Tails Management Facility (TMF) operated by Urenco in Capenhurst. In November 2022 French President Emmanuel Macron pledged to engage in “ambitious cooperation” with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on nuclear energy amid fears that fuel imports from Russia will plummet this winter.

Yes, but more priority needs to be put into the safety of nuclear energy
@9MXP7XJ10mos10MO
Yes, but in moderation and we should invest more into cleaner and safer alternatives such as wind, Solar, hydroelectric, thorium, geothermal and biofuels
@8RTTDQV4yrs4Y
Don’t care won’t be there to see the world burn sadly
@9N5XJ9V10mos10MO
Yes, it is the cleanest source of power per MW and the only viable option to achieve net zero in combination with wind and solar. Waste generation is a concern for all energy sources and already well understood for the UK nuclear industry.
@93WNHXK3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as there is strict training of nuclear power plant workers and thorough, regular monitoring and review of equipment functionality, energy release and measures to mitigate potential hazards.
@8R5M6PW4yrs4Y
doesnt effect me personally

Yes, for existing capacity, but not for new capacity, that is falsely claimed to address current-future needs in a timely and cost-effective manner.

I feel like nuclear energy can be a great source of growth for a country, but its also very dangerous so i feel like if majority agree, maybe choose a less inhabited area for nuclear energy growth where pedestrians don't live therefore we can keep the people safe.
