This is about suppressing wages. More immigration increases competition for each job so that employers can negotiate a lower wage for each employee. Wages are calculated based in part on how many respondents they get in job applications. It also increases inflation as these people still need to be fed and housed, it's reflected in food, energy and housing, so the average UK resident is worse off overall.
