Yes but surely this should be dependent on the crime and psychological state of the convicted criminal.

 @9Q6CJFWConservativeanswered…9mos9MO

The question should be… should people who have committed minor offences be considered criminals? Shoplifting and murder can hardly be compared

 @9TDVHZWConservativeanswered…7mos7MO

Yes, if they would otherwise be entitled to do so, they have as much stake in the outcome as anyone else, and their votes won’t change much anyway

 @9RT5H6HConservativeanswered…8mos8MO

If they are due to be released within the next government term, otherwise not. Foreign-born criminals should lose their right to vote.

 @9PLDZTKConservative answered…9mos9MO

No, you should loose your rights in prison and then start to earn them back by good behaviour and committing to learn and rehabilitation. Voting is a right for law abiding citizens

 @9P6LYBDConservativeanswered…10mos10MO

No, they should have no citizenship if they commit a crime, and no human rights except for basic provisions (food, water, shelter, education and exercise)

 @9P6FCMCConservativeanswered…10mos10MO

Yes, but not for foreign prisoners or those convicted on charges of terrorism, treason, espionage or people trafficking.

No, they have forgone their part of the "social contract" and so should not receive the benefits of a citizen until their offence is spent.

 @8TTW8BVanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, as long as they pass a basic test to show they are knowledgable enough

 @8SRBY9Panswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only for criminals convicted of non-felon, non-violent and non-sexual crimes and only after completing their sentences and parole/probation

 @8S22F35answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, once their sentence has been served and as long as they weren’t convicted of a sexual crime or murder.

 @8R97L69Conservativeanswered…4yrs4Y

No, criminals give up their right to vote when they are convicted. If they cannot abide by the laws set up in our society and have to be criminalized as a consequence they should have to forfeit any right to vote on what happens in that society.

 @8P6C45ZConservativeanswered…4yrs4Y

Yes, but only if they are going to be released in that government's term

 @8P59P58answered…4yrs4Y

Yes, provided they've completed their full sentences. And haven't committed crimes such as, murder, sex offences and drug trafficking.

 @8CTRBFJConservativeanswered…5yrs5Y

Only after completing their sentences but never if the felon has been convicted of murder or violent crimes

 @8CCZS3BConservativeanswered…5yrs5Y

It depends what their mental state at time of voting is and whether they have mental capacity.

 @998GP3YConservativefrom South Carolina  answered…2yrs2Y

This depends on the type of crime convicted. If it is a serious crime that they committed, they should not be allowed to vote. If it is a minor crime, they should be able to.

 @9972MWCanswered…2yrs2Y

No. Once you've been convicted of a crime you should lose your right to vote for the rest of your life.

 @974V27WConservativeanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, except for criminals who have committed horrific crimes and only for criminals who have completed their sentences

 @96WD46BConservativecommented…2yrs2Y

 @96R9ZPSConservativeanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but only those with non/violent crimes who have been sentenced to 2 years or less in prison. Then for all criminals (except those convicted of murder or violent crimes) after completing sentences and parole/probation. No person with a murder conviction or any person convicted of a violent crime should be allowed a vote.

 @95X32PLConservativeanswered…3yrs3Y

yes as long as they have completed their sentence and not committed any further offences for at least 3 years and possibly longer depending on the nature of their crime they were convicted of and served time for
