Yes, and remove all apparent ways to get around it as well as hire someone to check for fraud and unseen/obscure loopholes.

 @9HY5DZXdisagreed…1yr1Y

what do you think auditors do? the only loopy thing here is you. please read the economic times if you can read...

 @9FKKMDXanswered…2yrs2Y

Tax is not fairly balanced between rich and poor because the rich do not pay sufficient tax on assets e.g. inheritance tax, second homes etc

 @9TXMC69answered…6mos6MO

Taxes should be cut as a whole, along with the state spending/GDP ratio but income tax and NI should be merged, with the personal allowance clawback removed. Instead there should be a flat 35% tax on all income above Personal allowance, with personal allowance unfrozen.

 @9TJJJPQanswered…7mos7MO

Yes, make it so people who earn over 1 million GBP per year are taxed between 50-75% of their income, as £250,000 a year is more than enough money to live on yearly

 @9QN2VFSanswered…9mos9MO

The rich should pay the appropriate tax related to their earnings and not put their money in an offshore account without paying tax on it!

 @9QLD6QRanswered…9mos9MO

Raising taxes on the "rich" is a good idea, but if they can avoid taxes altogether then there seems little point?

 @9QL5LTZanswered…9mos9MO

No but rich people should pay a percentage for the services provided cover under the taxable services provided.

 @9QHNSQTanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, raise taxes for rich. But, rich needs to be defined. For example, you need at least a 70k wage to live somewhat comfortably in London. 70k might sound like a lot, but it isn't. Tax loopholes for large corporations needs to be removed, and tax people more who are earning extremely high wages, like 100k plus a year.

 @9QHDLPFanswered…9mos9MO

You can’t truly tax the rich so this question isn’t well written. As always the middle earner would be the one squeezed.

 @9QGSC8Manswered…9mos9MO

Top tax rate at 45% bracket should be raised to a higher amount and should not be as low as £50,271. The lower 20% tax rate should remain the same.

 @9QC49P6answered…9mos9MO

Tax the top 1% richest people ONLY 1% of their wealth. This would generate approximately £100 billion to the Chancellor in the 1st tax year!!

 @9Q2PG5Danswered…9mos9MO

Pay everyone a liveable amount each month and if people want more money they can work for it such as get a job, make taxes fair by not making lower income people pay less but make sure they are not being lazy and have reasons to not work etc richer should pay higher but only to an extent and do it o over 100k a year pay more

 @9Q2CBXCanswered…9mos9MO

Completely reform to support low income whilst increasing living wage, cracking down paid for on benefits. Take proportionally above basic living salary.

 @9PG7J7Janswered…10mos10MO

What counts as rich? Some couples and families already struggle on a decent income and are taxed heavily.

 @9P26LGGanswered…10mos10MO

Those who work hard should be given the same benefits as those who do not work at all. Job Seekers allowance is a safety net not a career choice.

 @9P24ZB6answered…10mos10MO

Lower the income tax rate for basic and higher rate. Keep additional income tax rate as it is. Remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations

 @9NYTYQ8 answered…10mos10MO

Yes. Higher taxes for the rich, lower taxes for the poor. AND Add a tax bracket for ultra high net worth individuals to be taxed at a higher rate on income above £500k. PLUS remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations.

 @9NVT7BDanswered…10mos10MO

The personal allowance should be raised to reduce reliance on benefits for lower earners, the basic and higher tax thresholds should be raised to give people more money to spend and the super rich should be taxed more through capital gains

 @9NSLXLCanswered…10mos10MO

This depends on the interpretation of ‘rich’. If you are first generational wealth and have funded your way through university, first home, childcare and you din’t have help from family wealth, then even £100,000 in the south of England doesn’t go all that far. If rich means millionaires, then yes, absolutely. If you mean a working class kid done good, earning £100,000 but with two kids and a mortgage to pay, then no - don’t raise their taxes.

 @9NJ8C8NGreenanswered…10mos10MO

Increase thresholds to reduce the burden on the cost of living crisis and work on companies reinvesting profits rather then paying highly inflated dividends based off overcharging a typical household.

 @9NJ6KBKLiberal Democratanswered…10mos10MO

Only for the highest band and lower the middle bracket. To cover the cost of living people must be able to earn £50k + a year and not be penalised

 @9ND3GR4answered…10mos10MO

Yes, additionaly Introduce Monopoly Tax For Multinational Conglomerates in multiple sectors e.g. Amazon & Google, as well as give Benefits and income tax breaks to the poor

 @9N9HSL5answered…10mos10MO

Taxes shouldn’t be raised, but there should be a third party organisation that makes sure that big companies pay tax.

 @9MW5Y5PLibertariananswered…10mos10MO

Ban taxes because tax is theft. Rework the way the country runs economically to cope with the change.

 @9M36X4Tanswered…11mos11MO

Remove all existing tax loopholes, particularly for those who are rich and large corporations. Make the tax lower for the poor, and slightly higher for the rich.

 @9LKYTFJanswered…12mos12MO

There should be a flat rate of income tax for individuals, and existing tax loopholes for large corporations should be removed.

 @9LH6CS4answered…12mos12MO

Define rich? Raise taxes on incomes exceeding 1m(?), lower corporation taxes and close tax loopholes for corporations

 @9LGWVPPanswered…12mos12MO

Increase tax for very high earners (more than 200k a year) Remove tax loopholes Introduce taxation on investment

 @9KX2HS8answered…1yr1Y

No, income isn't how the rich earn money. A Wealth tax needs to be introduced to properly tax assets, income and dividends over 5M

 @9KFKB8Qanswered…1yr1Y

Possibly raise the taxes for the rich, but mostly enforce that the rich are indeed paying their full taxes

 @9DZKXLRConservativeanswered…2yrs2Y

Tax brackets should take in consideration your outgoings every month. no of kids ect

 @9PXKDNCTUSCanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, and for the ultra-rich, they should not just raise taxes but expropriate their wealth and put them in jail.

 @9PQY4MPanswered…9mos9MO

Reform current tax brackets so that someone earning £150,000 is not taxed the same as someone earning £500,000 or £1 million +

 @9NGRJNKanswered…10mos10MO

Yes and and ban all existing tax loopholes for individuals earning over a certain amount and also large corporations

 @9MZDFC8answered…10mos10MO

No, but implement another higher tax bracket for extremely high earners. Ie. For those earning over £80k

 @9MYHD93answered…10mos10MO

Make everyone pay the same percentage, therefore its all relative to the individual and will still inspire people to work hard and get more money.

 @9M9WNMLanswered…11mos11MO

The rich should pay more in tax as in they should pay what is already due. If evasion was better policed taxes wouldn’t have to be raised.

 @9HTJYRSConservativeanswered…1yr1Y

No. Decrease tax significantly for those on lower incomes, increase the income threshold for the lowest tax bracket, increase sales tax, close all loopholes and establish a one-time, 1% tax on offshore accounts.

 @9HSY3GKanswered…1yr1Y

The super rich (those earning £500kpa) should be tax more. Current tax bandings are ok for those under this.

 @9FRBLPLUKIPanswered…1yr1Y

No, I would reduce income tax for all income brackets. People should be entitled to keep the money they earn.

 @99ZFFD2answered…2yrs2Y

No, but lower the income rates, increase the threshold and tax higher up with an additional 48% over 250k rate

 @96N5JNPanswered…2yrs2Y

 @96HJKB5answered…2yrs2Y

tax the rich more including large corprations and remove all legal tax loopeholes

 @966KJXDanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but specify clearly what is considered a rich person.(over 1 million GBP)

 @9624SF2answered…3yrs3Y

No, although those in ‘the middle’ should receive a lower tax bracket. To have reduced the upper tax bracket seems redundant when it makes little to no difference to those earning above £100,000 pa. If anything, it gives them more but will that increase their spending? Unlikely, given they could already afford to spend more!

 @95YLM8Hanswered…3yrs3Y

Place a one-off windfall tax on companies making large profits, remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations

 @95XVKSNanswered…3yrs3Y

We should still pay taxes but for the less fortunate it shouldn’t a main factor

 @95J4SC8answered…3yrs3Y

 @94VFHZLanswered…3yrs3Y

Remove all possible tax loop holes that people use to avoid paying tax.

 @94JPB6Wanswered…3yrs3Y

 @93V98VSanswered…3yrs3Y

No but add more tax brackets for higher earners and increase the tax in those brackets instead

 @93V3VMManswered…3yrs3Y

 @93T3S46Conservativeanswered…3yrs3Y

Lower income tax for all but add a sales tax on all imported goods, particularly from low waged countries with questionable employment practices, and add a delivery tax (including those using fast food delivery services) to help keep the high streets alive and disincentive people from leaving their house to buy a takeaway - walking to pick it up at least helps their lifestyle.

 @92LQC7Wanswered…3yrs3Y

Lower taxes up to £100,000 per year and increase taxes on the mega rich. Lower corporation tax but close corporation tax loopholes.

 @92FF2K4answered…3yrs3Y

Tax should be applied to the right places. Owning multiple high storage products (vehicles).

 @8ZQ4DJJanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes but depends n how rich they are and what they do as their job, if its someone like a Footballer, Formula 1 driver than yes, I don't get why they should be able to have so much money for just kicking a ball or driving a car. Football is just a sport for people to argue as which team is the best even though every Football team does the same thing. Anyone who doesn't earn a lot should pay less and yet again it depends on the job, people such as cleaners in a school, teachers, shop keepers should be paying less.

 @8ZNL4RHanswered…3yrs3Y

 @8YWLZQRanswered…3yrs3Y

The rich should have a high tax but it should depend on the source of income and whether they do good with there money

 @8YSCXJSanswered…3yrs3Y

No but enforce the taxes better and remove the current loopholes exploited by the rich

 @8YLXG3Canswered…3yrs3Y

Teach the poorer how to properly manage finances, even if the rich are heavily taxed they will still have a great income due to the advantage through knowledge they have.

 @8YFDHGDanswered…3yrs3Y

Make a set percentage of tax if one earns £100 and one earns £1000 and taxed at 10% that’s far, 100 pays 10 and 1000 pays 100

 @8Y64HN6answered…3yrs3Y

 @8Y5WYC5answered…3yrs3Y

Income tax is extremely important. You cannot tax everyone as if they are the same - they are not. The issue of tax evasion must be thoroughly investigated and addressed. Large corporations need to contribute as do the super-wealthy. However, this needs to be balanced. Otherwise, they simply leave for a different country and then then the main taxpayers simply become the working class again.

 @8WGYQWLanswered…3yrs3Y

Lower the tax for those in the lower brackets and remove all existing tax loopholes for large corporations.

 @8W5N2XKanswered…4yrs4Y

No, but some goods and products that would be considered necessities should be more affordable so homeless people can afford them.

 @8TC3786answered…4yrs4Y

Replace all taxes with a flat rate transaction tax which is applied every time money changes hands

 @8T8QGZLGreenanswered…4yrs4Y

Higher taxes on higher income brackets and remove all existing loopholes for large corporations
