Should the U.K. raise taxes on the rich?
The top tax rate in the UK is 45%. For the 2022/23 tax year, if you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, there are three marginal income tax bands – the 20% basic rate, the 40% higher rate and the 45% additional rate. Marginal bands mean you only pay the specified tax rate on that portion of salary. For example, if your salary puts you in the 40% tax bracket, then you only pay 40% tax on the segment of earnings in that income tax band. For the lower part of your earnings, you’ll still pay the appropriate 20% or 0%. If you live in Scotland, there are five marginal income tax bands – the starter rate of 19%, the 20% basic rate, the 21% intermediate rate, the 41% higher rate and the 46% additional rate.

Yes, unless they invest a minimum of 5% back into things that will support the country

Close the loopholes that all ready exist before raising/lowering taxes

We need a more proportionate form of tax for the rich. Especially in comparison to the poor. Increase tax on the rich. Stop overseas banking and lower tax rates for the poorest sections of the population.
Make corporations such as Google pay their full corporation tand leave income tax as it is for individuals.

I really admire the current tax system but there is always room for improvement.
They say “if it isn’t broke don’t fix it”, but obviously we are not the most prosperous country in the world and tax money/ taxes could be organised a lot better. (E.g - the Starbuckses, the Amazons etc...) The government could be taking in a lot more money if things like this were sorted out.

Force corporations in this country to pay their tax to the country.

I'm inclined to say yes, as this would help to stimulate the UK's economic growth during this difficult period. However, this will inevitably go back to how effective the government will be with utilising the surplus of cash gained. I believe that all parties in parliament should be willing to work together rather than against each other to find an effective way forward. I believe that there is a lot of negativity at the moment, and not enough encouragement to reassure the nation as a whole that we will get through this.

Increase tax percentage for highest brackets and remove all loopholes.
