Fatalistic attitudes like that are a death knell to democracy. We should strive for responsible civil engagement from as all people who reside in a state. Without that we risk surrendering basic freedoms and open the way to authoritarianism.

Lots of individuals that were born here don't know much about their country and for someone that is immigrating from a foreign country that speaks another language and follows another culture should not be deterred and they increase diversity.

This speaks more to the quality of present citizenship tests than the principle of them. Tests should be more relevant to the nation.

Because they lack a basic training and knowledge in the United Kingdom’s rules, traditions and ideals. This should form part of a curriculum, the children of this country should grow up with more pride and a better understanding of the political and economic landscape having received an impartial education, and should come out of school knowing their basic political beliefs.
