if there is another way then this should always be used, the animals should have some quality of life and not in torture or pain mentally or pysically

 @9QKS2WYLabouranswered…9mos9MO

yes but no? dependant on what animals they are as some are very different to humans and some are very similar such as pigs. cosmetics absolutely not

 @9QKFSMFanswered…9mos9MO

As an animal advocator I firmly believe they shouldn’t be tested on but as someone who’s brother had a condition that is now treatable with an injection I say only for medicines and drugs

 @9QGY6FRanswered…9mos9MO

Yes but not for cosmetics and only when necessary in case of drugs, and ensuring good animal welfare standards.

 @9QGH956answered…9mos9MO

Unfortunately I do think this has to be done for vaccines/medical research however not for cosmetics

 @9QF4KLYanswered…9mos9MO

No and I personally think we should utilise criminals. Not those for petty crime but those who serve life sentences. They are a lot less innocent than the animals we test on

 @9Q6LGNQReform UKanswered…9mos9MO

On mice and rats only on the understanding that the replicability to understand the effects on humans

 @9PVXC6Xanswered…9mos9MO

Yes for high priority vaccines and drugs. No for cosmetics and medical devices - human volunteers (unemployed etc) could do this in exchange for a fee.

 @9PVN5BWanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, but not for cosmetics, and with more stringent regulations and oversight for the better treatment and welfare of the animals.

 @9PNL77Danswered…9mos9MO

Yes but only when there is absolutely no alternative, and pain control and living conditions for lab animals should be continuously reviewed and improved. And definitely not for cosmetics.

 @9PFMP5PConservativeanswered…10mos10MO

Yes but only in certain circumstances, under certain conditions for certain essential products under animal protection laws

 @9NLYYVRanswered…10mos10MO

animals should only be used as a last resort to test drugs and vaccines and the process should be heavily regulated.

 @9NCFVL7answered…10mos10MO

Only when strictly necessary for human and veterinary medicine, and approved by a research ethics board/panel of experts. All other options are exhausted.

 @9L3XDJZanswered…1yr1Y

Yes as long as there is a sustainable source of purpose-bred animal test units available to the researcher.

 @9HTX4C5answered…1yr1Y

There are a lot more human trials now there shouldn’t be any reason to use animals, maybe something with convicted felons

 @9HPQ74NGreenanswered…1yr1Y

Yes, but not for cosmetics or drugs we already have enough testing on. Medicines need to be tested fairly, also, as most are only tested on males, and so side effects and efficiency in women isn't as conclusive.

 @9GBQ79Panswered…1yr1Y

If the thing is dangerous, no, but if it is a harmless item that just needs a subject, yes, but I think humans can volunteer for things like that.

 @9FDVGJTanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes but not if the risk to life or injury is likely.( if they would feel safe to test it on humans)

 @9PBPQDXanswered…10mos10MO

No, but use criminals that commit crimes such as SA, pedophilia, animal abuse, murder etc with undeniable evidence for the conviction.

 @9P5QKPYanswered…10mos10MO

I would need more information on how effective alternative testing methods are, it also depends on how humane and attentive they will be towards the animals if they show any signs of pain & discomfort during testing.

 @9NHDHB3answered…10mos10MO

no, volunteers - need consent. for example those with not long to live may choose to opt for testing.

 @9NGC7CQLiberal Democratanswered…10mos10MO

I understand we have to test out drugs and vaccines as this could be essential to saving human life however we shouldnt be doing this for non vital products as animals have a life too. Surely we have tested enough to have the technology to advise us on chemicals we should and shouldnt use.

 @9MSXLMPRenewanswered…10mos10MO

Yes as long as the animals used are not endangered, I also believe that we wouldn’t have endangered animals if had have used them in the first place.

If we ate dodo we would have dodo, if we ate panda we would have panda.

When did you last see a Wild cow ?

If we didn’t eat / need cow we would have very few very skinny Indian looking worshipped cows

 @9MSCJHNanswered…10mos10MO

Yes, but it must be specific. E.g. the animal must have already passed to practice a medical instrument.

 @9M7GLKBanswered…11mos11MO

Only if absolutely neccessary, drugs may be tested on animals if they are crucial in the development of important medicines. No animals should be used in the testing of cosmetics.

 @99ZRMPHanswered…2yrs2Y

only in instances where no alternate tests are feasible and not for cosmetics

 @96NG9MHanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes to a specific extent where the testing’s harm isn’t severe and is more than worth it in the long run.

 @95YZG2Vanswered…3yrs3Y

No, should be on humans only and they should be paid for there risk and service

 @95SNVZKanswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, but only if it is absolutely necessary and it's a life changing treatment.

 @95RT4RZLabouranswered…3yrs3Y

Yes, if no other alternatives are available, and it can truly lead to a positive advance in medicine

 @93JPTZFanswered…3yrs3Y

For product use but not to measure damage that could be caused to humans

 @93894B4answered…3yrs3Y

Only in cases where a solution is direly needed, for example the covid vaccine would be a suitable circumstance

 @8YVJ48Danswered…3yrs3Y

only if it is the only way to test a drug and it’s the only way of doing it they should not exceed the amount of animals being used and should not put more that what need at risk of death

 @8YMNY8Manswered…3yrs3Y

 @8XLXSJGanswered…3yrs3Y

 @8XCRLHFanswered…3yrs3Y

Only if they are sure that it is safe and if they are 1% uncertain then they should NOT AT ALL!

 @8X8KKY3answered…3yrs3Y

Depends on what is the product trying to be made whether something important or not.

 @8X72VSSanswered…3yrs3Y

 @8X4MYN8answered…3yrs3Y

yes but not for cosmetics, but if there is an alternative to test these things without harming the animals then i would choose that

 @8X4MQGTanswered…3yrs3Y

depends what kind of animals, for example wasps suck and rats are vermin

 @8X49338Greenanswered…3yrs3Y

 @8X3TPNQanswered…3yrs3Y

No under any circumstance. Because the drugs aren't impacting the animals so why subject them to the issues of creating it.

 @8WFRB78answered…3yrs3Y

Cosmetics tested on humans that have donated their body to science. Medicine should be tested on animals but only when it is completely necessary

 @8TR57FWanswered…4yrs4Y

For less intelligent animals it should be allowed, but if it is life threatening for the animal it should be reviewed highly. Not use monkeys except if it could potentially save many lives

 @8TNYPXZanswered…4yrs4Y

Not for cosmetics. Yes for drugs, vaccines and medical devices where a clear case has been made that there is no safe testing option that is not animal based.

 @8TB2S9Kanswered…4yrs4Y

 @8T9YYR4Conservativeanswered…4yrs4Y

researchers should be able to test vaccines on animals but not beauty products.

 @8T32QSHanswered…4yrs4Y

 @8SNY2XQanswered…4yrs4Y

 @8SMZQHNanswered…4yrs4Y

Not for cosmetics and not if viable safe and harm free alternatives are available for drug testing.

 @8SHMZC8answered…4yrs4Y

I feel that we should be more advanced in testing now but as we are not, test on animals but only for health not for beauty

 @8R2D9C7answered…4yrs4Y

Only use adult human volunteers. But have lots of initiatives. Free holidays, large sums of money etc.

 @8Q3MJKDanswered…4yrs4Y

 @8NYMBXZanswered…4yrs4Y

 @9D2L3CQanswered…2yrs2Y

 @9CFLHR2answered…2yrs2Y

Human testing should first be encouraged. People should volunteer to test out the products that we use for ourselves instead of animals who do not use these products.
