An “essential service” classification prevents employees of a government service from staging full-scale strikes and walkouts. Services with the classification are required by law to provide minimum services during periods of industrial action. Proponents of the proposal argue that strikes by underground workers cause significant disruption to the country’s economy and people’s lives. Opponents argue that the proposal would prevent workers from exercising their rights.

no, underground workers should have freedom of speech and should be allowed to strike, unless the government met all the requirements of the workers like better pay then the underground should be considered an "essential service"
@9T7NNYL7mos7MO
Underground workers should be allowed to strike if underpaid but the government should act quickly as it is a very popular and essential transport service

Should be essential and the government needs to ensure fair and equitable adjustments to salaries of TFL workers to ensure proper running of the service and avoid worker strikes.
It is an essential service but the rights of working skilled people are also essential and if unfairly treated then strikes are also and essential toll in holding standards of employees rights

Yes , it is an essential services and needs to be constantly running. But I do understand when their workers protest.
@8ZMNVTZ3yrs3Y
No, but only because the workers should have the right to strike. It is an essential service, however, so just give the workers the rights they need.
@8WW9NL7Women's Equality3yrs3Y
no but public workers deserve more pay and better working conditions
@8W6PN3K4yrs4Y
Maybe but strikes should be allowed
@8W5D6NC4yrs4Y
Kinda Essential but like strikes shouldn't be banned, the fact that people think they should be banned means you suspect strikes in the future therefore you can clearly see issues with the current working system for them, so whilst it should be considered essential, strikes should not be banned and working condition should be improved.
Should be essential. Don't ban them from striking
@8S5YMZQ4yrs4Y
Freedom of strike is a constitutional right conferred by the British Constitution
@8QRGYPC4yrs4Y
I don't think it's essential, but tube drivers are overpaid.
@8QBNCHY4yrs4Y
Yes but still allow for strikes, they can organise in advance so people can find alternative transport.
@8CM3XZZ5yrs5Y
No, improve working conditions to reduce worker strikes instead
@97D6T532yrs2Y
Yes, but workers should be able to refuse to take fares this way strikes impact the intended target, not the lives of citizens. This system has already proved successful in Japan.
If services are funded properly strikes for better pay won't be needed
