In November 2020 three high court judges ruled that children aged under 16 will need court approval in England and Wales to access puberty blockers. In September 2021 the ruling was overturned when the Tavistock and Portman NHS foundation trust, which runs NHS England’s only gender identity development service (GIDS) for children, successfully challenged the case. In July 2022 the NHS announced it was shutting down its gender identity clinic for young people because it has been “rushing children into life-altering treatment.”

No, but reversible non-surgical treatments should be permitted for 16+ if decided to be the best treatment option for an individual, as well as anyone deemed to be at high risk of suicide. But therapy should always be the first option for 18 years and below

Yes were the child has had adequate mental and physical care and that those surrounding the child are fully informed and supported, so that the child can be empowered to choose their best care.

Yes. Cass review, "Asleep at the wheel", describes "social transition" as a treatment. People age 16+ are legally allowed to choose their own treatment
There needs to be a LOT more educating on the topic in schools so that people know the consequences of transitioning or not.

Non surgical for over 16s if health professionals agree those are the best treatments on an individual basis.
@9FQX55F1yr1Y
Yes, but only after they have had discussions with medical and mental health professionals to ensure they are making the right decision

It depends too many people choose to de transition which costs them more money so only if there absolute positive and have different thing’s allowed for different ages eg don’t give hormone blockers to a 7 year old but let them style there hair or wear more masc/ fem clothes depending on how they want to look.
@9DQ2FPB2yrs2Y
hormone blockers should be available for under 18s, however surgery and hormone therapy e.g testosterone or oestrogen should be available for over 18s only
@9CJGKYN2yrs2Y
No, this is the work of the devil and all gender transitioning treatments should be outlawed as heresy.
@9BS2LHL2yrs2Y
I shouldn't get a say in this, the kids and their parents and doctors should.
@8Y2HFCK3yrs3Y
Yes, with permission from two different approved nhs doctors.
@8XDDLKW3yrs3Y
Yes, as long as therapy is tried first
@8TP34YC4yrs4Y
No but after the age of 21 they should be allowed to do whatever they want with their body.
@9CSPW822yrs2Y
Yes but only after extensive psychological intervention and with the right safeguards in place
yes, but only if by the permission of the one recieving it and the carers/guardians must be background checked incase they have somewhat manipulated the patient
Yes, so long as they are non-surgical treatments, and only above the age of 16.
