The Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 is to ensure that everyone who is at risk of homelessness, or who is homeless, is legally entitled to meaningful help from their local authority regardless of their current status. It does this by defining the service that local councils and other public bodies must provide to those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The law requires councils to provide that help at an earlier stage than previously, with the objective that this will decrease the likelihood that people will become homeless.

Not all homeless are offered alternative accommodation and therefore do not have the option to sleep anywhere other than in public areas, those who have been offered accommodation (depending on the standard) should consider that over the streets

Allow pets, if they’ve had bad experiences with houses allow them help for private and help them with addiction
@9P3WKMP10mos10MO
It should be compulsory for homeless people to have shelter if it’s been provided to them and there should be more options for homeless people to start back up again
@9MQLZJ910mos10MO
No, the government should be designating monitored safe areas in all cities for the homeless to come and go without fear.

Pods or economical mobile buildings should be created so there will always be somewhere safe and sanitary for homeless people without fear of others. Camera & code access to ensure they are not being used inappropriately.
@9M9576911mos11MO
Sleeping pods with bed and toilet facilities should be available throughout the country for safety and sanitation. A camera operated access panel (like on some inner city toilet facilities) to ensure they are not being misused
No, but make an effort to understand why shelter or housing was not preferred to sleep outside in the cold
@9H5RGVC1yr1Y
Yes, as long as it does not impact daily life. For example, setting up camp or sleeping on/near a high traffic footpath.
@9Q3CF479mos9MO
I don't think they should just be allowed to sleep/encamp on public property but maybe investigation needs to be had to understand why they're refusing shelter and have alternative initiatives in place to help/support people in other ways instead
@9PMQRKG9mos9MO
No. I would be arrested if I took the family camping on public property, so the same rules should apply. However, their should be more locations set up. We should have enough safe, cheap accommodation for everyone
if it causes a nuisance to a property then the owner of the property can kindly tell them to leave. If it doesn't harm any property or person, leave them be.
@9MGDY9Q11mos11MO
Shelter or housing should be improved to a good quality standard, and then only can one assume persecution to people who refuse it
@9JSTPQK1yr1Y
Yes, and try to improve current housing options so homeless individuals do not refuse them in future.
@9D2TB3SConservative2yrs2Y
Yes, but only if not causing problems to local residents and businesses.
@9BMBMSK2yrs2Y
There are sometimes reasons behind refusal that are completely valid so in those cases I’d support the matter
@99QXV3X2yrs2Y
No but there should be areas in place for them.
@96JM2GF2yrs2Y
If said public area is safe for them to sleep rough in then yes, but high traffic areas or areas known to be frequented by gangs or delinquent youth shouldn't be allowed to be slept there.
@95YZH6J3yrs3Y
Yes, if in designated areas and avoiding harassment of the public.
@92FKT5YAnimal Welfare3yrs3Y
Find out why they have refused and treat according.
@8Y9PKB33yrs3Y
As long as they keep to themselves leave them alone
@9C8HY8W2yrs2Y
There should be a safe place for them to stay that doesn’t necessarily mean inside but isn’t on public property, a homeless community if you will
No and create more social programs to provide free food, clothing, and medicine
@984RJ672yrs2Y
Homelessness is an issue all round down to social housing and the private housing.
@984DX4YConservative2yrs2Y
Should be given a 3 chance system and if they dont take it. Should have there entitlements took off them
