Russian drone swarms have been able to penetrate as far as northern France; they have the range to strike the UK directly and they have repeatedly been provoking tensions and infiltrating NATO airspace with suicide drones and jet aircraft; they pose an active risk to NATO security, so supporting Ukraine for both purposes of keeping Russia further away as well as learning from the combat on the ground AND for ensuring that a strong, anti-Russian liberal democracy other than Poland can properly develop itself in the region is crucial to the long term security of NATO and Europe as a whole.

T… Read morehe Global Inflation Crisis largely began due to the Russo-Ukraine war strangling fuel and grain exports from Ukraine and Russia through the Black Sea as both countries attacked each other's shipping; 31% of the world's grain comes from the two countries, and 12% of the world's fuel comes from Russia. Much of the issues with inflation are because the economies of the world are interconnected to the point that small changes across the world (e.g. in Australia) can have direct and severe impacts on us here in the UK; even the countries which have managed the cost of living crisis superbly (such AS Australia) have still suffered tremendously from it. For economic purposes, Ukraine is far more in favour of free trade than Russia and has not used economic leverage to "get its way" on the global stage. By comparison, Russia has used its economic leverage both during and before the Ukraine war to inflict economic chaos and pressure other countries into adopting policies it wants/abandoning policies it dislikes, particularly in Central Asia, the Caucasus, Africa and even parts of Europe.

Without funding, Ukraine will lose the war. This would bolster the Russians and other countries would be at risk of invasion.

If the Ukrainians are given full support they will beat the Russians and this may lead to the Russians getting away from an authoritarian kleptocracy and hopefully a better regime in place could be possible

To allow Ukraine to fall would incontrovertibly pave the way for China to forcibly take control of Taiwan and other islands, increasing their international boundaries and potentially causing damage to free movement in international waters.

Context wise if we looked at German in the late 1930 the Nazi Party continued to test the water and each time it went unchecked it was bolder in it next step, First by putting troops in the demilitarised Rhineland, the. They then sent sent troops into Austria to for unification, they then invaded the Rep. of Czechoslovakia. All of this went unchallenged and built confidence within the Nazi party to first make demand of polish territory and eventually to invade.
For context with regards to appetite to undertake military action, Following initial Iraq and Afghanistan invasion and subsequence… Read more insurgences, neither the US or UK had the appetite for further military campaign of scale within the Middle East. Syria saw very little US or UK presence despite the success of ISIS in the region and the Assad Gov. use of chemical weapons. Both of these were used as justification for the previous military action but the appetite for regime change and the cost of trying to achieve this through military force was seen as to high against the potential ‘rewards’.
