Russian drone swarms have been able to penetrate as far as northern France; they have the range to strike the UK directly and they have repeatedly been provoking tensions and infiltrating NATO airspace with suicide drones and jet aircraft; they pose an active risk to NATO security, so supporting Ukraine for both purposes of keeping Russia further away as well as learning from the combat on the ground AND for ensuring that a strong, anti-Russian liberal democracy other than Poland can properly develop itself in the region is crucial to the long term security of NATO and Europe as a whole.

If the Ukrainians are given full support they will beat the Russians and this may lead to the Russians getting away from an authoritarian kleptocracy and hopefully a better regime in place could be possible

To allow Ukraine to fall would incontrovertibly pave the way for China to forcibly take control of Taiwan and other islands, increasing their international boundaries and potentially causing damage to free movement in international waters.

Context wise if we looked at German in the late 1930 the Nazi Party continued to test the water and each time it went unchecked it was bolder in it next step, First by putting troops in the demilitarised Rhineland, the. They then sent sent troops into Austria to for unification, they then invaded the Rep. of Czechoslovakia. All of this went unchallenged and built confidence within the Nazi party to first make demand of polish territory and eventually to invade.
