Do you think it's more important for a country to maintain its current political stance or to adapt its policies in response to global issues and relationships?

There are values that shouldn’t change but policies obviously need to change to reflect the changing world around us and changing nature of the country and the people within it.

Starmer's focus on re-engaging with Europe and prioritizing climate change is a breath of fresh air, but his willingness to collaborate with far-right parties is concerning and seems to contradict the core values of progressive politics.

I'm really into Starmer's forward-thinking approach; it's about time Britain took seriously its role in tackling global challenges, especially climate change. His willingness to engage with different governments, even controversial ones, shows a pragmatic approach we desperately need to navigate today's complex international landscape.

Sounds like Starmer is keen on roping us deeper into global politics, but I'm wary of how his broad social policies might mean more government meddling at home.

I can't help but feel skeptical about Keir Starmer's vision for a so-called "Global Britain." It seems like yet another attempt to cozy up to the EU and other international bodies, potentially compromising our sovereignty in the process. The focus on climate change and re-engagement with the global south sounds like a lot of globalist talk that might end up costing British taxpayers dearly without clear benefits. And this idea of working with any government, even Marine Le Pen's, just to tackle the small boats crisis? It strikes me as a bit desperate and shows a lack of a firm, principled stance on immigration and national security. I'm all for Britain playing a strong role on the world stage, but not at the expense of our independence or by adopting policies that haven't worked elsewhere in Europe.

Keir Starmer's vision to re-engage with Europe and prioritize global relations is exactly the kind of leadership we need to see more of in today's fragmented political climate. It's refreshing to see a British politician looking to strengthen ties with the EU and the global south, showing a commitment to addressing major issues like climate change through international cooperation. Though his pragmatic approach to dealing with parties like Marine Le Pen's might raise eyebrows, it's a bold move that underscores the importance of dialogue and collaboration across the political spectrum for the greater good.

FRANK FUREDI: Keir Starmer is about to impose on Britain the destructive socialism Europe's now rejecting - and soon enough he'll face his own backlash

https://dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-/FRANK-FUREDI-Keir-Starme…

The timing of Labour's imminent win could not be worse. The UK is about to be ruled by a party that clings to the soggy pieties of social democracy, as it is rejected in Europe.

Keir Starmer to signal Britain is ‘back’ on the world stage

Sir Keir Starmer will use his first weeks in power to signal that Britain is “back” as a leading global player, as Labour prioritises three foreign policy resets — with Europe, the “global south” and on climate change.
