Cutting billions from welfare while people are already struggling with the cost of living crisis is a betrayal of the very people Labour is supposed to stand for. There’s always money for defense spending, but when it comes to supporting the most vulnerable, suddenly “fiscal responsibility” becomes the excuse. If Reeves thinks this is the way to win over voters, she’s in for a rude awakening.

Maybe if the government stopped wasting money in the first place, they wouldn’t have to keep making “difficult decisions” with other people’s livelihoods.
