Yes

 @BBTHD2DSDPdisagreed…4mos4MO

It's a complete waste of money. There's no actual benefit to anyone for bringing in regulation. It's not that clear what a regulator would actually do and even if it did have any powers, which seems unlikely in the first place, would this power be for the greater good?

 @BBV9JR4disagreed…4mos4MO

You don’t even have people regulating Thames water, so why do you think you should be involved in football?

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4mos4MO

Yes, protect historic clubs from predatory owners and prevent another European Super League disaster

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4mos4MO

No, poorly run clubs should be allowed to go bust just like any other business

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4mos4MO

Yes, regulate ownership to stop authoritarian regimes from using our teams for "sportswashing"

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4mos4MO

No, the Premier League is a global success story and heavy-handed bureaucracy will destroy its competitive edge

 @BC6J6HDReform UKdisagreed…3mos3MO

I think that the current committee is too biased as it is made up of a representative of each football club so they are essentially regulating themselves

 @BC5XYDZGreendisagreed…3mos3MO

The premier league is not a global success story as you think as it is based on money and power, so the beautcratic competitive edge will be good for popularity.

 @ISIDEWITHDiscuss this answer...4mos4MO

No, government interference violates FIFA rules and could get England banned from the World Cup

 @BBDQ6TVGreenanswered…4mos4MO

no, i feel that there are more important issues that government funds should go towards such as the NHS

 @BDZXJ22answered…2wks2W

the government establish an independent regulator to oversee all football clubs in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland?

 @BDWS5SXGreenanswered…3wks3W

we should really be focusing time and money on more important things than football to be honest

 @BDJ9YQGanswered…1mo1MO

I think football should remain a sport and not be managed by a government. The entire premise of the world of football is ridiculous

 @BDHYWBP answered…1mo1MO

Yes to prevent sportswashing and mismanaging of clubs to prevent clubs from going under as they help contribute to a local economy greatly abd provide a good escape for a community

 @BDGV2Y9answered…2mos2MO

No, football clubs aren't important enough to have their own dedicated sector or regulator in government. We should focus on other things

 @BDDVFQHanswered…2mos2MO

A light touch is good, but beaucracy will kill it, it is a game and it should be managed as a game

 @BDCQ2N3answered…2mos2MO

I do not think the government should be so worried about about a sport when there are much more important matters

 @BDCNYLLanswered…2mos2MO

Something needs to be done - especially with the salaries the players are given - its obscene money.

 @BDCD272Greenanswered…2mos2MO

politics should not come into a game - there are real world problems to focus on before sport

 @BD6QWPKanswered…2mos2MO

depends on what could happen and whether current regulation is adequate

 @BCSV6HNGreenanswered…2mos2MO

English football clubs should be owned by the fans and the players, with the leagues and cups state-owned

 @BCSLQ3Janswered…2mos2MO

No, this isn't an issue compared to everything else we should focus on

 @BCSL22Yanswered…2mos2MO

I don’t care about football - i would ban it if I could, it’s a toxic culture

 @BCNQY2QLabouranswered…3mos3MO

 @BCMNVK9answered…3mos3MO

Why “English clubs” and not British ones? As a Scot this question is irrelevant again to me

 @BCK9CNWConservativeanswered…3mos3MO

There should be a standards regulator but not control football clubs but just ensure when the rules are broken they step in but not control football clubs but oversee it

 @BCFSBGJanswered…3mos3MO

No — while oversight may be useful to prevent financial mismanagement, football clubs should remain largely independent to preserve their identity, culture, and connection with fans.

 @BC8T72PIndependentanswered…3mos3MO

Football (soccer) is a negative influence of the behaviour of the country and should not be encouraged, public funded, shown on free to view or encouraged in schools. Until soccer can maintain the standards of rugby union it should be removed from public life.

 @BBX7Q2Ganswered…4mos4MO

Yes, spending in football is out of control on players with no input into the surrounding areas highly impacted by poor behaviour, violence, parking issues, noise nuisance, traffic, monopoly on policing recources etc.

 @BBTZ9XFanswered…4mos4MO

No, poorly run clubs should manage their finances responsibly. Football has way too much financial backing from a range of areas. They should be made to pay a high rate of tax to support local communities and give back to where they should be supporting instead of paying disgustingly out of touch payments to footballers and senior staff.

 @BBS68ZRanswered…4mos4MO

To put it logically, everyone who joins the English football teams should be considered English, and not just “British” because anyone could consider themselves to be “british” just by living in this country, even when they could barely be English or speak English at all. As part of considering yourself English, you must abide by all key aspects of the British values that we strongly withhold.
