Should the government construct a bridge or tunnel connecting the Isle of Wight to the mainland?

Using taxpayers money for this project is a waste

The fixed link would result in a huge influx of people to the Isle of Wight which would have to be monitored around the clock. After all there is only so much space for visitors.
