Gay couples are human. Straight couples are human. What's the difference? So long as everyone's consenting, it's alright.

 @9GH7C67agreed…6mos6MO

In my perspective, one’s freedom ends where another’s is being hindered - in this case, I cannot think of any situation in which a gay couple (married or not) has ever or could hinder any of my freedoms or rights.

 @9FCP2NZLiberal Democratagreed…8mos8MO

If a gay couple has the right to express their sexuality and be in a gay relationship, then why are not to be in a gay marriage. The fact many churches are denying gay couples the right to be married is not only homophobic and discriminatory, but this would encourage others to be homophobic and discriminatory towards them which would be a violation of the Equality Act 2010. Just like a straight couple, gay couples are capable of demonstrating the same level of love and commitment which is just as worthy of marriage. The religious stigma surrounding gay marriage must be banished to the past and churches strongly encouraged to welcome gay couples with open arms. Equality is key!

 @9FC4YW9agreed…8mos8MO

If someone wants to get married it is their decision, it proves love and commitment no matter if it is same sex or same gender - in marriage the contract signed is the same for whatever type of marriage so what is the point of not allowing them to have the title and satisfaction of being married.

 @9GJCK7Zfrom Pennsylvania agreed…6mos6MO

Gay couples have the same right as straight couples to express their love and sexuality. They shouldn't be punished just because of who they love.

 @9GHHTFCfrom Pennsylvania agreed…6mos6MO

It gives people the freedom to love whoever they want, it shouldn't be up to laws to choose who you can and can't marry, love is versatile, ranging from many places.

 @9GM8RHGLabouragreed…6mos6MO

Why is it wrong for people of the same sex to get married? If they love each other, then they should be allowed to get married.

 @9FF6CC8disagreed…8mos8MO

Marriage is a religious act and one that God created, he created it so man and woman would become one flesh and start a family, something that two people the same gender can’t do

 @9FFX6QJConservativedisagreed…7mos7MO

Religious arguments are subjective and not necessarily grounded in objective reality for everyone, it's well established that in the 21st century religion should not dictate the functioning of the state.

 @9FFWJ95disagreed…7mos7MO

Every day active practising individuals of a religion pick and choose what parts of, for example, the bible that they choose to live their lives by. An example being Leviticus 19:19 that prohibits wearing wool and linen fabrics in one garment. Obviously this is impractical and does not fit in with modern day life. You cannot pick and choose what you follow by and it is not only insulting to modern day society but ridiculous to anyone who makes that claim as they themselves will most likely be not following the (for example) bible exactly and changing it to fit in with their life.

 @9FCKHS7agreed…8mos8MO

It's a matter of principle. Without strict adherence to the principle of individual equal rights, we don't have liberal democracy anymore, but a tyranny of the majority.

 @9GX4SJ5agreed…6mos6MO

Forcing LGBTQ+ people to not marry is just going to cause more issues and make people unhappy, stopping people from trusting the government.

If someone doesn’t agree with someone else’s sexual nature, number 1 it’s none of their business number 2 their should be zero legal action against it

 @9G295R2from Alberta disagreed…7mos7MO

It devalued marriage and removed the end goal of it. Furthermore it destroyed the institution by ending the traditional definition of it.

 @9G4SPJGagreed…7mos7MO

It should NOT concern anyone what other individuals do with their love life.
There is no difference between a man and a woman being together and a man and a man being together. LOVE IS LOVE.

 @9GZYY8Xagreed…6mos6MO

No factual proof any god is real, science and psychology have proven being gay isn't a choice, can not be converted and is present in nature.

 @9GJD7GGLabouragreed…6mos6MO

everyone should be free to do what they want if you don't like it then don't like it but you have no right to encroach on others right to be happy

 @9GM2TMMagreed…6mos6MO

Love is love and you can't really argue with that. What business is it of the state to interrogate people on the happenings of what happens in a bedroom between two consenting adults. In a world of people who want to harm our society through hatred and anger, we should at least allow two consenting adults to have the chance to express their love to each other.

 @9FQTT4Fagreed…7mos7MO

The less acceptance and support there is towards people who are gay then the more suicides will occur as people who cannot be happy and who are bullied or scrutinised as they are will be driven to a path of mental illness

Children need parents. There are same sex couples who want to be parents. If only there were some way to put these two things together...

According to a British Social Attitudes Survey conducted in 2020, 68% of the British public supported same-sex marriage, compared to just 31% in 2005.

Everyone should have the right to marry who they so please. No one should be denied this right, regardless of sexuality or gender.

 @9LPSNMYagreed…1wk1W

The anti gay marriage agenda is pushed by religion, they say gay people are trying to push their lifestyle on them and it can damage children. At no point has anyone stood on a high street and told me to be gay, but every day I see people preaching at me to turn to god, who are the ones trying to force their lifestyle onto others. Religion is the leading cause of war and one of the leading causes of poverty, yet people of the same sex whom happen to share a bed, who contribute to society by paying their taxes and their bills seem to be the larger issue, where is the sense in that?

In the UK, the legalization of same-sex marriage has had numerous positive impacts, both socially and economically. Since the legalization in 2014, there has been a significant increase in public support for same-sex marriage, indicating a positive shift in attitudes towards equality and inclusivity. According to a survey conducted by YouGov in 2021, around 76% of UK adults now support same-sex marriage, showing a strong majority in favor of equality in marriage rights.

Moreover, the economic benefits of legalizing same-sex marriage are substantial. A study by the Williams Institute estimated…  Read more

What other people do in their relationships is none of your business. If you are against gay marriage; don’t be gay and get married.

 @9KJQGQFagreed…2mos2MO

Love has nothing to do with opinions of other people. Let people love who they love and therfore marry who they want to.

 @9J7TQBFagreed…3mos3MO

 @9HK9L5Xagreed…5mos5MO

the marriage argument is actually loosing it's touch since marriage is declining since many people don't see the need to get married.

 @9GZRKVDagreed…6mos6MO

Marriage is an intimate and personal bond with someone that you love and someone that you've decided you want to spend the rest of your life with. If a person disagrees with gay marriage, then they don't have to participate in it, but I believe that it is unfair to deny two people the life they want to live, merely because they love a person of the same gender.

 @9GXXQGYagreed…6mos6MO

Would you wish your child to live an unhappy unfulfilled life if they were gay and wanting to get married but couldn’t?

 @9GRKQH3agreed…6mos6MO

It is not the business of other people to determine who is able to marry who, as nobody has the right to interfere in relationships as long as they are genuine.

 @9GNYZ9Yagreed…6mos6MO

- Same-sex couples should have the same rights as heterosexual couples. Marriage is a fundamental right that should be available to all couples, regardless of their sexual orientation.
- Marriage provides many benefits for couples, including financial security, legal protections, and social support. Same-sex couples should be able to enjoy these benefits just like heterosexual couples.
- Children of same-sex couples do just as well as children of heterosexual couples. There is no evidence that children of same-sex couples are any worse off than children of heterosexual couples.
- Opposing same-sex marriage is discriminatory. There is no good reason to oppose same-sex marriage. It is simply a matter of personal opinion.

 @9GNT3CFagreed…6mos6MO

Every human should have the same rights as the next, no one should be able to do things that others can’t (unless in prison) regardless or gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation etc. we are all human living in the same country

 @9FNQQGBagreed…7mos7MO

All of us are human beings at the end of the day. Before labeling each other with the religion we follow or the people we choose to love. Everyone must realize this fact and act like it. Same-sex marriage is more than important in today’s time as the world is progressing.

Moreover, people can finally be themselves and own their individuality. Just because someone does not love a person from the opposite sex, it does not make them wrong. We can love anyone we want.

In addition, it is better to spend the rest of your life with someone from the same sex you love rather from the opposite sex…  Read more

 @9FJPQF7Liberal Democratfrom Quebec agreed…7mos7MO

gay marriage has been legal in the UK since 2010 and it would be regressive and archaic to reverse this.

 @9FJFH6Hagreed…7mos7MO

Marriage is a sign of love, that you'll love each other to the end. A gay couple, much like a straight couple, want to get married because they too want to show that they're in love.

 @9LWZKKWagreed…4 days4D

Gay Marriage is allowed by the churches through choice of the church trustees and supported by the minister through virtue of registration with the GRO and local registry office to preform the ceremony so if it offends you change where you worship and if you think it effects you outside of church...how many gay people do you walk past without knowing, how many are married, can you tell? No, so what's the problem, people are in love so it shouldn't matter.

 @9LQZZV8agreed…1wk1W

I don't get angry when a man and women get married because how petty would I have to be to get angry at that. I feel the same for same sex marriage.

 @9LQ3CSTagreed…1wk1W

Everyone should have the same rights when it comes to marriage and love, gay marriage is as much a dedication and commitment as - heterosexual marriage.
