Do you think increasing funding for shelters will truly help, or will it lead to other challenges?

 @9W6QYD8from Nevada  answered…5mos5MO

Give people free houses. Society is about lifting up the underprivileged to bring future success upon the success of others not a London's Biggest Landlord contest.

 @9W5QP38from Pennsylvania  answered…5mos5MO

Increasing funding for homeless shelters will help as long as other efforts like lessons for finding housing and more help finding jobs.

 @9W5MRBJfrom Maine  answered…5mos5MO

I think it would mostly help their quality of life but might put off on going into housing, causing many homeless people to stay homeless and cause the number to increase which is negative.

 @9PXXH5K answered…9mos9MO

I think additional funding should be spent getting the homeless back on their feet to contribute to society.

 @9N8JR8Janswered…10mos10MO

Government should try to help homeless people by providing jobs so that they can fend for themselves.

 @B3K4NRDSNPanswered…4wks4W

Homeless shelters should be replaced with permanent, high quality housing for all homeless people, which is not only more humane, but better for reducing homeless and increasing social mobility

 @B2QWQBNanswered…2mos2MO

Yes, only because I’d rather them in a shelter then on the streets where regular people have to walk around

 @B28L8Q8answered…3mos3MO

Remove all Immigrants on welfare and in receipt of housing benefit. More housing for our own, means less money needs to be spent on homelessness.

 @9XFDYGTanswered…5mos5MO

No, instead of simply providing care and service for homeless people, housing and employment programmes should be introduced to eliminate homelessness altogether

 @9X4Q292answered…5mos5MO

Yes, but also increase addiction services. Also deport foreign homeless people back to their country of origin.

 @9W9QX3Vanswered…5mos5MO

Yes, but pass tougher laws on those sleeping rough on private property and begging etc. They will recieve community service and recieve food and drink from the Trussell trust food banks, in a central soup kitchen/hall.

 @9RKQQV2answered…8mos8MO

Only if they also increase the spending on dealing drug usage and mental illness problems with homeless population.

 @9QNG6JRanswered…9mos9MO

no but make long term smart plans for them ie help them more to get jobs and off the street otherwise they will just keep the money and do drugs

 @9QLQ7PD answered…9mos9MO

Yes until they actually make proper affordable housing as people are ending up homless due too housing not actually being affordable and them never being able to get on a housing ladder and therefore renting becoming the only option but its far too expensive for their salary.

 @9QH3LDNanswered…9mos9MO

For those in genuine need. Not for social housing for those that are capable of looking after themselves

 @9Q6K5X7Liberal Democratanswered…9mos9MO

I think the government should be encouraged to re house homeless to working on farms away from potential drug influences encouraged for cheaper labour on farms at the expense of housing and meals

 @9Q6GDDBanswered…9mos9MO

Yes, and ensure safety in these shelters so that the homeless don't feel they need to resort to the streets.

 @9Q5Y273answered…9mos9MO

Yes, but this needs to include increasing the social housing stock to reduce homelessness, and support services for those who find themselves homeless to prevent reoccurrence.

 @9PH8BN8answered…9mos9MO

No, they should increase funding for the services to reduce homelessness and poverty. Eliminate the cause.

 @9PZZC3Yanswered…9mos9MO

They should incentivize local councils to use abandoned our unused properties to create temporary housing

 @9PNWZNFanswered…9mos9MO

No one should have to live on the streets and all deserve a roof over their heads and a safe environment to sleep. The Gov should fund larger purpose-built hostels - a modernised version of the old workhouse

 @9PLRJLQ answered…9mos9MO

Yes but with help to get them on their feet again and also look into the root cause of homelessness.

 @9PJZKQManswered…9mos9MO

yes and encourage the homeless to contribute by encouraging voluntary work within the shelter and services sector

 @9PJ8ZYLanswered…9mos9MO

Restrict the ability of people buying council houses, therefore increasing the availability of houses

 @9PGJZTTanswered…9mos9MO

If people are homeless through choice then no, however many are not and they deserve as much help as possible to return to society as a useful member.

 @9PFLDLGanswered…9mos9MO

No, local councils should work with the homeless in their constituency to provide more relevant local services

 @9PQKCHQTUSCanswered…9mos9MO

Yes there should be a homeless shelter in every town and city that can handle a decent percentage of the towns population

 @9PPV4BKanswered…9mos9MO

No but rebuild council homes to house homeless with compulsory work help and reintroduce tied cottages

 @9MYYQGZanswered…10mos10MO

Government should commit to more local authority housing and mental health support

 @DAVIEBrexit answered…10mos10MO

No, otherwise what's the point in charity? The state shouldn't be paying hotels and the private sector to house homeless people. Asylums and mental institutions, however, are acceptable.

 @9MRR92Wanswered…10mos10MO

Yes with a view to investigate the root cause of the individuals homelessness to aid gaining permanent housing & employment.

 @9NV6SWJanswered…10mos10MO

No we should work to help homeless individuals and their issues, core issues as they might not want to be homed

 @9NN6VLHanswered…10mos10MO

They shouldn't have to if they restricted outside investment and enabled more affordable housing / renting initiatives to reduce homelessness

 @9NMRLLKGreenanswered…10mos10MO

Complete revamp of homeless service, new department to tackle this, divert funds from housing illegals to homeless.

 @9N7XXZ6answered…10mos10MO

No, I work in social housing and speak with people in hostels and hotels etc. People actually have to quit their jobs if homeless because how much they are charged but if on benefits get it for free. There is a penalty for being a worker and homeless ans people cannot afford this. This is incentivising unemployment. Additionally these hotels ahould be regulated to hygiene standards and police should do regular drop in to deter the violence and drug use in these places.

 @9N2FB8Danswered…10mos10MO

Spending should be focused on the causes of homeless and seeking ways to prevent it from happening in the first place.

 @9MZB5LVanswered…10mos10MO

Only for Rita since birth or over 10 years after having to do 2 years for our country if moved here
