No, simply adding new or increasing existing tariffs seems a poor way of balancing things. It may be better to look at the manor of import, amount, type, distance travelled, native product, etc and then account for these factors with a heavier tariff for smaller, luxury imports vs a lighter tariff for bulk, essential imports.

We shouldn't be able to buy dirt cheap stuff from overseas on sites such as Temu and Shein. We should support UK businesses by making them more affordable.

yes for products than are not essensial to us, but not for products we have a compartitive advantage in, lack of competion makes results in poor quality products due to lack of competition and impeads our exports to thoughs counteries who then put up retaliatory tariffs, we should focus on reacherch and development

Add tariffs for authoritarian countries to encourage derisking and trading with countries of similar ideals
@9PGCXYY5mos5MO
The ethical quality of goods needs to be considered so products that are green or slavery free would have a lower tariff. Unethical goods should be banned or restricted
@9PD4NSY5mos5MO
Yes where there is an unfair disadvantage for instance where countries do not operate the same work conditions etc
@9PQWDD25mos5MO
No, but imports should have to meet the same standards as domestic produce to avoid UK businesses being undercut.
@9P4KS2R5mos5MO
Some tariffs should be implemented to protect UK industry where necessary, but for items we have to import there should not be tariffs
