The current structure reduces the tax rate when above a certain income, as it works by reducing your tax-free allowance by £1 for each £ over £100k: once you've maxed out the personal allowance then your tax rate effectively drops. It was deliberately structured by the tories to reduce their personal tax. This should be changed to a percentage tax band of its own and not touch the tax-free personal allowance.

It is incredibly unlikely that you would be hit by a tax hike on the top 5%, let alone the top 1%. You're voting to keep yourself and your country poor.

The rich people have more money and there for can afford more tax. 1% of someone who has very little is completely different to 1% of someone who is very rich
