Putting minimum wages up only increases the pool of people on minimum wage. It creates a bigger divide between the rich and poor. That means that instead of many people on a staggered wage, most of the population are competing for resources where the prices are increasing. Increasing the minimum wage is like putting a plaster on a broken leg and instead the government should fix the economic problem of crashing wages instead of hiding it behind the increase of house prices. If you do that every year then you are increasing inflation evbery year but profits of huge companies will stay the same or grow. That creates inequality and makes a bigger gap between the rich and the poor.

If you are working a minimum wage job you should not have a family and household to support, that is selfish and short sighted

It is increasing at a faster rate than inflation and actually causes inflation as businesses have to increase their prices to pay new costs. The two are proportional

Inflation is currently at 6% and the minimum wage has not increased with inflation for over 13 years.

No because it can cause a wage spiral affect that can cause inflation to worsen. We should focus on increasing rewards to those who push boundaries in learning, training and becoming specialized skilled workers.

Great for people on low income jobs but would push up inflation and discourage people to strive for higher paid jobs.

The minimum wage will be £15 per hour before we know it how can businesses realistically support this.

The cost of goods will rise constantly if MW is raised consistently and predictably, therefore prolonging inflation.

Minimum wage is a base level for employers, it is higher than universal credit which is the minimum for someone to survive. More emphasis should be on employers to pay greater than minimum wage to share business profit rather than abusing the minimum, and It is an incentive to work harder and progress for more wages.
