Zero Hour contracts should be offered on a temporary basis. Once the individual has worked there for 5 years they should be offered a more permanent contract.

I’ve worked on one during a desperate time in my life, and worked full time, whenever my employer required, with basically no employment rights/protections. Lots of places use them as a loophole for I employ full time staff and sidestep employment law (I was working in a factory with about 600 people on zero hours contracts who needed full time work and not one of them was secure or happy with their situation)

If we reduce Zero hour contracts, these workers won't all be able to go full time. As zero hour contracts encompass multiple workers accruing the working hours of a single person, 1 person "may" (depending on their situation be able to get the job full time, but the rest will be laid off and be in a worst situation.
As zero hour contracts were created for people who were unable to work a full working week, this would potentially cause more issues. If someone can only work 7 hours aweek, if they are no longer required as the position they worked is taken up by a full time person, they will b ein a worst place.
