We have to have insurance as UK citizens if we would like to receive medical care overseas if we do not want to pay the costs upfront, why shouldn’t visitors to this country do the same.
The NHS exists out of the moral recognition that emergency medical care is a basic human right. To deny it to foreign individuals is to suggest they are somehow not worthy of those rights.
