Not necessarily, but I do not agree with Scotland and Wales voting for free prescriptions and care home fees funded by English taxpayers who have to pay for these services the.srlves.

 @99CPGTQanswered…3yrs3Y

Political candidacy and parliament should be revolutionised; instead of people of a certain neighbourhood voting from someone of their neighbourhood, people from the industrial, medical or military field etc, should elect representatives from their respective profession. A representative from industry, medicine, military and so on, to create an election for specialists in the nations fields of employment to serve as the new representative government.

No, but a devolved parliment should be established for Yorkshire and other underfunded regions

 @BCY4CTYanswered…2mos2MO

Yes, but for regions otherwise the South will still receive too much attention.

 @BCWPWD8Greenanswered…2mos2MO

 @BCWJ8KBanswered…2mos2MO

No, instead devolve to local areas, giving more power to unitary authorities and counties.

 @BCRH9QSanswered…2mos2MO

Yes, but Northern England, Southern England, and Cornwall should each have devolved administrations.

 @B9Z4B28Conservativeanswered…4mos4MO

Yes, in a way to show Englad is not a submitter but a nation like all, and also because if it's a nation like all, why shouldn't it have one, should it?

 @B9W4YR6 from Ohio  answered…5mos5MO

Either abolish all devolved parliaments or give England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland equal devolved parliaments.

 @B8YF97Danswered…6mos6MO

The UK should be a fedral system with different regions functioning effectively like states in the United States of America, with a region such as yorkshire or Lancashire being represented at a federal level with a system similar to Germany's Länder.

 @B5X6NL2  from North Carolina  answered…7mos7MO

I support a regional parliaments. London, Northwest, Northeast, West Midlands, East Midlands, Anglia/East of England, Southeast, Southwest, and Cornwall should all receive a devolved parliament. Wales should also receive increased powers.

 @B8CJZV8answered…8mos8MO

Open-minded to either an English parliament or the idea that devolved parliaments or assemblies should receive less power

 @B7ZS8X6answered…8mos8MO

Only if desired by the people of England, however the Sewell convention should be codified and enforceable.

 @B7VFHGNanswered…8mos8MO

No and the other regional devolved Parliaments should be dissolved, and the UK PArliament reformed to provide proper representation for all.

 @B7KZMGQanswered…9mos9MO

If England gains greater powers then Parliament must change to be more based on the nations rather than the population. Maybe with seat numbers assigned similar to the European Parliament.

 @BD6R3JJanswered…2mos2MO

Devolution should be given to English regions. The asymmetry between the four home nations would make full English devolution unworkable. Localism is the answer

 @BD5HQGManswered…2mos2MO

No, but the Greater London Authority and combined authorities should have greater powers.

 @B9BKD3JLiberal Democratanswered…5mos5MO

No, but regional governments within England should be granted significantly more autonomy as part of a greater commitment to decentralisation

 @B5N86Z9Reform UKanswered…1yr1Y

No, and the powers of the devolved assemblies should be gradually returned either to the local authorities or to Westminster.

 @B5TNXRCanswered…1yr1Y

No, a single English devolved parliament is impractical but more power should be given to regional governments

 @B5RSL6Ranswered…1yr1Y

No, England already dominates the current parliament and devolution prevents the country from becoming an English dominated state. Also, that's 2× more bureaucracy.

 @B385DTGLiberal Democratanswered…1yr1Y

We should allow foe regions who want more devolution to have more but warn them about the issues that may follow.

 @B327CQLLabouranswered…1yr1Y

Yes but there should be devolved powers to places like Lincolnshire and Cornwall instead of England as a hole

 @B2NL4XBanswered…1yr1Y

Can only be devolved by the king or a referendum or public vote.- this should trigger a general election.

 @B27C5WY  from Maine  answered…1yr1Y

No, as there is not a high turnout in current local elections so the electorate does not care for it

 @B22534QLiberal Democratanswered…2yrs2Y

No, England should be devolved further into smaller areas as England already is the majority of the UK

 @9ZSRHLCanswered…2yrs2Y

No, abolish all devolved powers of scotland and wales as well. One British parliament for the whole of Britain with some devolved powers for local councils only

 @9ZN7HJGanswered…2yrs2Y

Nations within the United Kingdom should have greater autonomy, but not to smaller regional governments, like for instance, counties.

 @9SBTMJPanswered…2yrs2Y

No, but establish fairness for all parliaments and give the UK parliament more legislative control over the devolved parliaments, and allow devolved parliaments to take the UK parliament into account.

 @9H2ZWTFanswered…3yrs3Y

Ideally I’d abolish the Scottish and Welsh assembly’s but if that’s not going to happen I want an awwembly

 @9FKF5D4from Famagusta  answered…3yrs3Y

Yes, there should be devolution to all of England’s regions with their own parliaments or assemblies. There shouldn’t be a single England parliament.

 @9FJZYFGanswered…3yrs3Y

No, there should be regional devolution. Westminster has proved that a UK wide or EVFEL system does not do enough for developing areas outside the South East.

 @9F8FW9Dfrom Izmir  answered…3yrs3Y

 @94XY8F6answered…4yrs4Y

 @9992HTR  from GU  answered…2yrs2Y

No, England should adopt a hybrid system where the federal parliament has less power over local assemblies, but first past the post should be abolished in favor of either rank-choice or proportional representation.

 @9QK3MJLanswered…2yrs2Y

Would be beneficial in some cases, but also leads to more opportunities for localised corruption, typical scenario of needs oversight, but by whom

 @9QHTKN7answered…2yrs2Y

No, but more powers such as fiscal autonomy should be granted to cities and regions similar to other international cities.

 @9PHT2T3answered…2yrs2Y

Yes. Bicameral body with single transferable vote in the lower and regional representation in the upper house . Sheffield should be the capital.

 @9PHD699answered…2yrs2Y

England is too big to be a cohesive entity under one government, more regional authorities to break up England's regions akin to US state federalisation.

 @9PH8J4Ranswered…2yrs2Y

No, but grant devolved parliaments to areas of England that tend to differ in values from Westminster such as Yorkshire and Northumbria

 @9MZNK8Kanswered…2yrs2Y

No but make it illegal for MPs from other parts of the UK to vote on matters that only affect England

 @9MYHDFZanswered…2yrs2Y

I would like to see one Government but with regional sections, so the North, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and possibly other areas of England could make their own decisions where appropriate, but coming together when needed.

 @9MV58NBanswered…2yrs2Y

advantages to both but i think a new system needs to come into place all together, its getting tiresome

 @9LS86Z9answered…2yrs2Y

I believe in Kent Secession from the United Kingdom so more powers to local Governments and less power in the hands of Westminster.

 @9KVTHMGanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes all members of the Union should be equal and have separate identities however the central government should be stronger and the British identity encouraged.

 @9KLK3YZanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes to make things fair for all UK nations, however it may become more complex in terms of UK agreement and potentially decrease parliamentary sovereignty

 @9K7SMYJLiberal Democratanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes, but not a single united English parliament, instead granting more power to pre-existing devolved governments, such as Greater London, and establishing new ones, based on cultural regions, such as East Anglia.

 @9JXRHQZGreenanswered…2yrs2Y

England should be divided into smaller regions of similar size to Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and these regions should have devolved parliaments.

 @9JPRHMFanswered…2yrs2Y

Regional power can be held in devolved nations but the uk constitution works best under a unitary system

 @9J96FGBanswered…2yrs2Y

No, instead break the UK into four separate sovereign state republics: England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

 @9HVFGG5answered…2yrs2Y

Yes and no, the UK should be dissolved and Westminster should be the Parliament of the English and no one else, by the English and no one else, and for the English and no one else.

 @9D54DMGanswered…3yrs3Y

 @9BQBB77Labouranswered…3yrs3Y

All nations in the British Isles should be devolved with an elected Upper House making laws that affect all 4 nations.

 @8RXWH3Hanswered…5yrs5Y

No, I think efforts should be made to merge all countries in the UK into a single entity with one government. I'm not saying abolish the others, we should found a brand new united government, then abolish all, including the current british parliament.

 @9Q47C9Zanswered…2yrs2Y

We are a united country and therefore we do not need a devolved England as England makes most of the decisions regardless

 @9Q3CF47answered…2yrs2Y

I don't have enough knowledge or understanding on this subject to form an opinion on it but I do think that different regions can be drastically different with regards to socio-economic backgrounds etc and that it could potentially be beneficial for some more local decision-making powers that will directly benefit that particular region

 @9Q22KFFanswered…2yrs2Y

No and central government should act in a more balanced way across all nations. The only reason devolved governments in the UK have become a thing is due to the failure of central government to ensure the interests of each UK nation is recognised and supported

 @9PL38FJanswered…2yrs2Y

Voting in parliament should be by MPs representing areas affected by the changes proposed e.g. no Scots MPs voting for changes which would affect England and Wales only

 @9PFXXQ2answered…2yrs2Y

No, but provide the directly elected mayoralties with similar devolved powers to those in Scotland and Wales so they all align.

 @9P7XQ9XLiberal Democratanswered…2yrs2Y

Yes but this should be broken down in giving local areas should be given more devolved power to tackle inequities

 @9P29HB4answered…2yrs2Y

No, but create regional assemblies for the rest of the country, and align them with a smaller, more focused "federal" UK Parliament.

 @9NZCPGQanswered…2yrs2Y

No and this question is irrelevant as Westminster is the government for England with devolution being granted to the other 3 "members" of the UK

 @9P6RQYXanswered…2yrs2Y

No, but regional authorities should be given greater autonomy (e.g. Mayor of Greater Manchester etc.)

 @9M4P792answered…2yrs2Y

Yes, each nation should have a national assembly, to ensure fair representation, however the goal should be less government and a smaller UK parliment.

 @9NY732Sanswered…2yrs2Y

I personally feel that we need a central base to go to in times when regional parliaments are making no progress but once place should not be make all the decisions at all times as it is not one size fits all

 @9NJ33T3Conservativeanswered…2yrs2Y

No, but MPs in English constituencies should only be allowed to vote on English constituent issues. Scottish, NI and Welsh MPs shouldn't be allowed to vote on those issues.

 @9F7VSL6Labouranswered…3yrs3Y

Devolution has failed; so no and remove power from all devolved assemblies, as well as getting rid of the Barnett formula; make finances work for everyone.

 @9F7VSL6Labouranswered…3yrs3Y

No and remove power from all devolved assemblies, as well as getting rid of the Barnett formula; make finances work for everyone, especially as devolution has proven to be a catastrophic social and economic failure.

 @945K7TRLiberal Democratanswered…4yrs4Y

If they want. But, they should also respect devolution and separation from other nations of the U.K.

 @8WHPWPKanswered…5yrs5Y

No, England has a much larger population than the other Home Nations so it wouldn't be consistent. Individual English regions should have their own devolved parliaments.

 @8SR4SP2answered…5yrs5Y

No, but more power should be given to smaller regional governments

 @8SR3KTYanswered…5yrs5Y

No, but more devolution and regional controll should be allowed for the North of England

 @8SNCGW8answered…5yrs5Y

Regions of England should have parliaments to better represent the areas. An England Parliament will have same issues as the uk one which will be seen as too London Centric.

 @8SMG8SManswered…5yrs5Y

The different regions of England should have there own devolved Parliament

 @8SLLC2Yanswered…5yrs5Y

No; introduce devolution to regional assemblies, representing comparable population sizes, to acknowledge regional identity, encourage regional empowerment and prevent devolution morphing into nationalism

 @8SK752Xanswered…5yrs5Y

Yes, but it should include more than one devolved parliament to govern England's regions.

 @8SJQYV5answered…5yrs5Y

Yes, and the entire system should be revised to properly represent equality of sovereignty amongst the four nations.
