Yes but only after detailed and intense scientific testing to prove those gm crops and foods can cause no harm short or long term to humans, animals and the environment.

It depends if it is for profit and where it occurs, e.g. in poorer parts of the world, especially rural areas with extreme weather/soil conditions guaranteed crop could prolong the average lifespan of a resident/citizen.
