Educate people on what’s is wrong and what is right starting with education

 @9H7VJ8Hanswered…1yr1Y

Debating the issue in more controlled environments. People are too emotional on this topic.

 @9HBZP76answered…1yr1Y

People are free to practice and believe in any religion however it is important that religion is not imposed on others and does not interact with politics or country policy l.

We should respect Islam as a religion but they need to respect our culture too. No to private courts and laws shiria

 @9H9YPZ2answered…1yr1Y

Addressing vague allusions and online content that often represent the religion, culture and politics of Islam is perhaps key to making that differentiation.

Stop sensationalising mass murder on 24 hour news. Name it for what it is, and look at the real backgrounds of the people committing it- not just their religion.

Make the UK a secular state. One which only promotes British Values. Religion should not be publicly discussed.

 @9H5VY84answered…1yr1Y

encourage better integration, increase spending on anti-radicalisation and put more resource into better education for non-muslims

 @9H8X4J6answered…1yr1Y

We educate people from both sides and see both sides as good and bad but do not go with either (observe)

 @9H7ZFHSanswered…1yr1Y

Supplying the public with unbiased opinions from both sides of the fence can help you to inform your own opinion, not rooted in racism or antisemitism

 @9Q2F6WZLabouranswered…6mos6MO

Make a public location to speak about it, helping criticise those whom are misinformed, as well as listening to those who have valid opinions.

Just stay out of it. Allow everyone to live their lives without any criticism.

 @9QZP6WTanswered…6mos6MO

To actually debate people and not call them far-right or alt-right or neo-nazi and actually understand their position.

 @9QY2N23answered…6mos6MO

Teach it in schools, but don't ignore the amount of Islamic Terrorism there is in the world

 @9QXPM82answered…6mos6MO

We should open up freedom of speech for Islam cant say nothing on the subject.

 @9QXJQNNLabouranswered…6mos6MO

Make the country more diverse and explain that nothing is wrong in people’s religion

 @9QRRYH2from New York  answered…6mos6MO

Education. The same way that there are various versions of Christianity that do not all agree with core tenants of faith and doctrine, so to is there variation between sects and schools of Islam. To understand that those who claim holy war in the middle east are not the same sect or traditions as you neighbor from Indonesia is key to understanding that all faiths contain multitudes of conflicting ideas. There are no monoliths in religion.

 @9QQ66PZanswered…6mos6MO

If the criticisms lead to policies and negativity against Muslims practicing harmless religious activities, that is harmful.

 @9QQ5PC4Labouranswered…6mos6MO

Educate people about the difference between Islam and fundamentalist Islam.

 @9QQ5TQ8Greenanswered…6mos6MO

 @9QQ5MVVanswered…6mos6MO

Educate more people on certain religions and make them realize that not all religious people have extremist views.

 @9QQ4MW2answered…6mos6MO

talking to someone of that faith. reading the quran. doing self research. nothing wrong with being against the religion but to hate a person based off that alone is foolish.

 @9QPPTTYfrom Ontario  answered…6mos6MO

Better programs to support and integrate people into communities. Animosity comes from alienation.

 @9QPPQR2answered…6mos6MO

Education and a wider news spectrum. Criticizing ideas need not be personalised.

 @9QBL2C2answered…6mos6MO

I don't believe that any religion should have a place in the laws and rules of society, but if others want to worship their God then they should have the right to do that, however that looks to them, be it a temple, chapel, mosque or wherever then they should have the right to do that without fear.

 @9Q7R68GLabouranswered…6mos6MO

Education tends to be a common factor when discussed. Be a little more open minded when facing criticism. Allow yourselves to look at everything from just more than your own viewpoint. Nobodies opinions are their own they are formed of other beliefs views and anecdotally crafted to suit each individuals belief

 @9Q7HMLFanswered…6mos6MO

Educate people to help them understand the difference between religion and extremism.
Stop vilifying Islam and embrace a multi-cultural country

 @9Q78M3Danswered…6mos6MO

Work with Muslim communities to help ensure a shared goal of peaceful coexistence with a trusting relationship that will identify and self solve extremism, rather than alienating a community and encouraging hatred to fester on either side.

 @9Q782NNanswered…6mos6MO

what can be done to differentiate between the two is educating people, in an objective way! Telling people tahts is okay to not agree with something but if that is at the cost of someone else being harmed for it then no, as that is wrong. Also telling people it’s okay to not agree with something/ someone but do not go out and create hate for those people say that they don’t deserve to live, especially if they are not harming you.

 @9Q6QJ7Yanswered…6mos6MO

We should respect Islam as a religion but they need to respect our culture too. No to private courts and laws shiria. Education needed

 @9Q6KJHVanswered…6mos6MO

Education. And unbiased reporting from media outlets and regulations on what is actually factual.

 @9Q69ZKManswered…6mos6MO

 @9Q69LZ8 answered…6mos6MO

Total freedom of speech should be ensured. Unless an individual threatens to physically harm another, whatever they say should be allowed.

 @9Q5YJTNanswered…6mos6MO

Understanding and learning about the culture of Islam in its full spectrum-hearing from those with Islamic heritage and learning more about it, respecting people’s culture. Encouraging diversity within workplaces, education, entertainment. A lot of prejudices are built on a fear of the unknown-we need to work on that.

 @9Q45FQBanswered…6mos6MO

Watch the language you are using, making sure it is respectful and empathetic. Understanding that where you're coming from is simply your point of view.

 @9QM224Fanswered…6mos6MO

we can all stop pretending as though immigrants are the problem, and we can stop caring how other people live their lives

 @9QFB6BXanswered…6mos6MO

 @9QF5C7V answered…6mos6MO

Educate people on the Islamic faith and look at harmful stereotypes in schools

 @9QBSDBSGreenanswered…6mos6MO

Education. A basic understanding of different cultures and religions is essential.

 @9Q5SXJ6 answered…6mos6MO

People need to be educated and something must be done about removing stigma and stereotypes.

 @9Q4D5JYGreenanswered…6mos6MO

A reminder to all that we are all human is a good start. A lot of people tend to either be scared of what they don't know and either ignore or attack when it comes to differences to themselves. Reminding them that were all human is a good start. Opening up topics with other cultures in a safe manner is another way to go about it too. We should be teaching about other cultures more, that way we won't be as uneducated about it and hopefully see a decrease in racism in that respect.

 @9Q4DQ3FGreen answered…6mos6MO

less segregation and more representation, the UK is not a third world country, it is very possible to have peacefull co existence between two seperate cultures.

 @9Q45QK9Labouranswered…6mos6MO

Education, teaching children to be kind, considerate, show the harmful side of it

 @9Q3QMNCanswered…6mos6MO

Stop talking about it. If we don't talk then we are not differentiating between groups

 @9Q3PHRManswered…6mos6MO

Allow and encourage the conversation in schools/university under supervision. Help guide the youth to productive critique and discussion and allow them to hear all perspectives on a issue.

 @9Q3N5MLGreen answered…6mos6MO

I think just talking to people who are not from your culture can change so much. Islam is a beautiful peaceful religion and anyone who thinks differently has probably never had a posative interaction with a Muslim.

 @9PZYJR8answered…6mos6MO

violating human rights and for promoting a climate of fear and hostility towards Muslims

 @9PZ4XTRanswered…6mos6MO

Teaching of the negative racist ideas in schools as part of the education system to educate those on the problems these can have. The government can also toughen laws on hate crime and increase police budget for preventing these crimes.

 @9PZ4538UKIPanswered…6mos6MO

As long as the religion is not imposed on me then I am perfectly happy for Islam to be widespread. I am not anti Islam

 @9Q37RMLanswered…6mos6MO

Avoid referring to a specific group of people when criticising ideas. If you believe that only Muslims (or Christians, or men, or young people, etc) carry out a particular behaviour or believe a particular thing, you're almost certainly wrong. Call out the ideas, not the people you think believe it.

Stop parents from being able to withdraw their children from RE teaching in schools. Education on religious beliefs is key in helping people to understand differences and separate religion from fundamentalist ideology.
