How would you describe the balance between celebrating your own culture and being open to others?

Celebrating your culture must not intrude on anothers ability to do the same and if its stops them from doing the same, physically, through fear or intinidation ect it has become dangerous. Celebrating your culture, for those whose culture is deeply tied with imperialism and invation, must also be paired with acknowledgement of the negative past and intention to remedy those actions in our modern world.
